New functionality

A few meetings ago, Cristina led a brainstorm session about new features in PeaR.

One important feature that was missing was the ability for you to upload your own graphic.

Especially important when you represent different organisations, projects, or want to market specific services.

Tada! http://www.dev.terena.org/news/community/

Marketing PeaR – where we left off

At last TF-CPR meeting, we discussed the possibility of “branding” PeaR, by means of a logo, a tagline and possibly, a new name.

The result was:1. Name: Keep the name “PeaR” since it is known

in the community and as good as any other name!

2. Logo: Create a new logo for PeaR, but create a logo that plays off the fruit (similar to the TNC poster)

3. Tagline: Use “Are you getting all the juicy news?” in mass marketing of PeaR

4. Create a better “descriptor/positioning statement” which addresses the new, wider target market

PeaR positioning statement – what is wrong with it?

Contributions for PeaR are global Some specific organisations, like Internet

Society, are posting news. Are they networking? It’s a mouthful! It’s not compelling. No explicit/implied benefits. You’ve heard of speed-dating? Now we are going to speed-brainstorm Come up with your best positioning statement

in 5 minutes. Hint: (Product / Service / Company /
