cation of exact target spot LED does not influence the measu-
rement Measurement spot as small as
1.5 mm
Fibre OpticsFor pyrometers featuring fibre optics, the electronics are housed separatelyfrom the fibre optic sensor head. A fibreoptic cable transmits the infrared radia-tion to the electronics assembly. The optical sensor head can withstandambient temperatures up to 250 °Cwithout cooling. Due to their compactsize (Ø 30 mm and 16 mm) these sensorheads can be installed in cramped, hard-to-access locations. The fibre optic cablecan be unscrewed on both sides for easydetachment. The optical head is focus-able. A variety of lenses is available toaccommodate target spots as small as0.66 mm.
Industrial laser applications PQ 27 with integrated filter to block
laser diode radiation.

The right tool for the job, examples:
Moving or difficult-to-access objectsImmediate temperature readings for process monitoring and qualitycontrol of textiles, paper, coated sheet metals and plastic films.
Laser applicationsPurpose-built pyrometer model is resistant to diode laser radiationto provide fast temperature detection and monitoring.
Continuous casting of steel, rolling millsQuick temperature detection of slab products and rolled steel plates.
Resin extruders and moulding machinesTemperature monitoring during the plastic bottle manufacturingprocess.
Heat treatment of metalsDetection and optimal control of object temperature during inductionheating processes.
Cement plant, rotary kilnMeasurement of the temperature at the sintering zone and the clinkertemperature at the kiln inlet and outlet, checking of the shelltemperature in case of damage to the refractories.

Supplementary lensesAttaching an additional lens to the pyrometerenables various target spot sizes as small asØ 1.2 mm.
Protective windowA protective window can be placed in frontof the lense to protect it.
PS 01/X pressure-proofenclosureFor pyrometer use in potentially explosiveatmospheres. Certified EEx d IIC T6.
PS 01/A air purgePrevents dirt or dust from settling on thepyrometer's lenses or quartz window. Circularairflow provides maximum efficiency withminimal air consumption.
PS 01/R mirror attachmentDeflects infrared radiation 90° whenattached in front of the pyrometer.
PZ 20/X AF 5 oscillatingmirrorDeflects the radiation emitted fromthe target for hot spot recognitionor measurement of thin target ob-jects. Can be mounted in front ofany PZ or PQ model pyrometer. Cou-pled to the pyrometer, the PZ 20/Xcan act as a scanner and generate atemperature profile across a targetarea. Using a digital interface, thedata can be transmitted to a PC.
PS 01/K insulation tubePrevents heat transfer from the hotaccessories to the pyrometer.
PS 11/N bayonet connectorEnables quick pyrometer dismoun-ting, e.g. when the optics requirecleaning.
ZA 01/Q intermediate tubeEnhances the purging effect of thePS 01/A by increasing the air cushionto keep the lens free of dust anddebris.
PS 01/N mounting flangeFor wall mounting or ceiling sus-pension.
PS 11/U mounting bracketEnables vertical or horizontal pyro-meter mounting.

PC CommunicationThe VK 11/C-USB PC connection box can be easily inserted into thepyrometer's connection cable during initial installation or field service. The plug connector enables on-site connection in a matter of secondswithout interrupting operations.
To check if peripheral equipment such as the signal conditioner oranalogue scaling is functioning properly, an output signal can besimulated.
The connection box is especially convenient when performing on-sitetest measurements because it enables connection to a PC in a matterof seconds. To provide the pyrometer with an electrical current, thepower supply is simply connected to the box, thus creating a mains-independent data acquisition system.
Combination Examples and PC Communication
Due to their modular design, the ARDOCELLPQ Series accessories enable a wide varietyof combinations, thus creating customisedassemblies to meet the requirements ofspecific measuring tasks and serve specialapplications.
The PS 21-010 assembly is used with chamberkilns and tunnel kilns. The PS 01/K insulation tube provides electricaldecoupling and insulates the pyrometer fromheat. The PS 11/N bayonet coupling with
optionally integrated protective window doesnot require tools to dismount the assembly. Thisfacilitates easy cleaning of the optics and a quickview of the measurement point within the kiln. When combined, the PS 01/A air purge, ZA 01/Mintermediate tube and ZA 01/C dust stop generatea laminar air flow. This ensures that the protectivewindow and pyrometer optics remain perfectlyclean. The ZA 01/E ball flange provides maximumflexibility in pyrometer alignment.
The PS 01-008 assembly offers comprehensivepyrometer protection. The PS 01/B cooling jacketallows the pyrometer to be installed in ambienttemperatures up to 200 °C.The protective window safeguards the pyro-meter's optical system against damage. The airpurge prevents dirt and dust from settling onthe the protective window.
The PS 01-048 assembly makes it possible to install the pyrometer evenin the harshest industrial conditions. The PS 01/A air purge generates an air flow in the ZA 01/Q intermediatetube, thus keeping dirt and debris off of the pyrometer optics. ThePS 11/K mounting bracket enables the pyrometer to mounting at anyangle.
