Note

Jon F. Hobbs is an architect who worked on original projects, heritage sites as well as historic buildingsin Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. During the years 1979-1983 Hobbs was a partner in the Architecturalfirm Turczyn and Hobbs. Between, 1983-1995 Hobbs became the principal architect for his own firm, JonHobbs, Architect and Planner. Hobbs graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Architecturein 1972. In 1979 he obtained a Masters of Planning (Urban and Regional) from Queen's University. Since1980 Hobbs has been a member of both the Ontario Association of Architects and the Royal ArchitecturalInstitute of Canada. Between the years, 1980-1986 Jon Hobbs was a member of the PeterboroughArchitectural Conservation Advisory Committee. Between 1987-1988 Hobbs held the position of VicePresident of the Ontario Association of Architects and in 1986-1988 he held the position of Councillor.Hobbs also held the Design Manager position for Design West, in Nanaimo, British Columbia. JonHobbs also was a founding member of the Canada Green Building Council that organized, trainedand administered a green building rating system in Canada. In 1991 Jon Hobbs received the award forArchitectural Excellence from the Ontario Association of Architects.

The initial accession of material was received on January 23, 2009 by the Carleton University Archivesand Research Collections. No further accruals are expected.
