    For more than 57 years, Arc Gateway has beenproviding programs that help people realize theirdreams. With the help o our members, support-

    ers and volunteers, we are able to sustain our ex-isting services and explore innovative new waysto help children and adults with developmentaldisabilities reach their ull potential.

    Programs & ServicesArc Gateway offers a wide array o services or children and adults with de velopmental disabilities, as well as support or their amilies.Trough the ollowing programs, we provide support that begins at birth and continues through retirement.

    Te Pearl Nelson Center provides speech, occupational and physical therapy by experienced pediatric therapists as well as developmentalinstruction by inant toddler developmental specialists.

    Te Pollak raining Center ( PC) provides services that ocus on helping adults with developmental disabilities reach their ull potential,

    whether it is in the community or the classroom. PC offers: -Low participant-to-staff ratios to address the needs o adults with disabilities. -Job-skill training through sub-contract work opportunities and a plant nursery program. -Community inclusion and leisure activities, basic education classes, computer enhanced learning and sel-help training.-Art programs to discover hidden talents.

    Pollak Industries (PI) is a manuacturing division o Arc Gateway, providing various training and employment opportunities or adults withdevelopmental disabitlies. Program participants have opportunites to earn an income and develop marketable skills and habbits. Tey canchoose to do sub-contract work or manuacture plant sleeves, survey stakes or concrete products.

    Community Based Employmentconnects people with jobs in enclaves at th I-10 Welcome Center, the I-10 weigh stations, and localcompanies like Armstrong World Industries. An enclave is a group o adults with developmental disabilites who work together at a businessunder the supervision o an Arc Gateway staff person.

    Arc Gateways Employment Servicesprogram provides one-on-one voational training and helps people with physical and/or developmentalchallenges find jobs with local businesses. Tis creates a unique win-win situation. Employers are able to tap into a pool o reliable, qualified

    job applicants, and people with disabilites gain independence by working in the community and earning their own income.

    he Senior Adult Programat the Bayview Senior Citizens Center provides seniors with an active, rewarding retirement. Participants engagein activites such as music, arts and crafs, exercise and commuinty outings.

    Supported Livingcoaches provide training and assistance to adults with developmetal challeges who live in their own homes or appartments.Te coaching staff helps with household chores, cooking meals, shopping and handling personal finances and teaches social and adaptiveskills that are applicable to independent living. Coaching services are tailored to the unique needs o each person served.

    Trough Group Homes, adults with disabilites live together in the community. Arc Gateway staff creates a nuturing home envirmonment.

    Tey build supportive relationships, provide supervison and encourange the people they serve to become indepedent and involved in thecommunity.

    Having FUNwith r iends is an important part o lie! Tats why a committee o adults with developmental disabilites organize monthlyrecreational activities and get out in the community!

    How to beginRecieving Services?

    In order to receive ser vices rom arc Gateway, you must have a reer-ral rom a state agency that sponsors and unds the service.

    Reerrals may be provided by: Childrens Medical Services

    Early Steps Te Agency or Persons with Disabilities Te Department o Education Te Department o Vocational Rehabilitation Te Escambia County School District

    Private pay and/ or private insurance options may also be available.No ees are charged or services sponsored by the State o Florida.Costs vary depending on the type o service and are based on theState o Florida Medicaid Waiver.
