Kuwait has donated USD four million for the organiza- tion, IOM said in a statement on Wednesday. About 106,692 Iraqis have fled their homes since the launch of the operations on October 17 this year, said IOM, adding that they were in urgent need of aid espe- cially in such cold weather. Meanwhile, recent statistics re- leased by the Iraqi Ministry of Dis- placement and Migration showed that the number of displaced Iraqis in Mosul exceeded 120, 000. On its part, UN High Commis- sioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in a statement welcomed the Kuwaiti contribution that allowed the UN body to continue delivering aid to a wider range of Iraqis. Kuwait has donated USD 30 million for different UN organiza- tions, aiming to aid people in need. Meanwhile, Director of the Gulf Cooperation Council’s (GCC) Gen- eral Secretariat’s Humanitarian and Environmental Department Dr. Adel Al-Zayani said the events in Aleppo are “horrifying”, noting that the meeting has been called at KRCS’s behest. (CIE) to finance the construction of a power station in the southern city of Adzope, ac- cording to a statement released by the Fund on Tuesday. The document was inked by KFAED’s Deputy Director Gen- eral Ghanim Al-Ghaniman and Ivoirian Minister of Economy and Finance Adama Kone, the state- ment said. The loan falls in the framework of the implementation of the initiative announced by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah dur- ing the third Arab-African Summit in Kuwait in 2013 for backing the economic development in the Af- rican continent. This is the fifth soft loan offered by the Fund to Cote d’Ivore; it took to KD 26.23 million (nearly $88.8 million) the total value of loans to the friendly country in addition to technical assistance worth KD 250,000 (or $850,000), the statement added.
