Keith Dawson
President Kelley introduced our guest
speaker this week, Tricia Khan, who is the
acting CEO of the Erie St. Clair Community
Care Access Centre. There are 14 CCACs
across the province, all funded by the Ontario
Ministry of Health. The local branch serves
37,000 patients on an annual basis with a staff
of 450. It covers Lambton, Kent and Essex
regions. The vision statement is "Outstanding
Care - Every Person, Every Day". Established
in 1996, CCACs were directed to provide help
in finding home care, community services
and long-term care. Care coordinators are
regulated health professionals with expertise
in nursing, social work, occupational therapy
and other services who work directly with
patients in hospitals, doctor's offices, schools
and in patients' homes. About 60% of the
referrals come from hospitals. People looking
for specific resources can search online at the
thehealthline.ca website. This site provides
accurate and current information about a
wide range of community and health
resources. Finding the proper health care that
allows people to stay at home is often difficult
and we appreciate the work of our local
CCAC in helping with this need. Our thanks
were expressed by Rotarian Colin Patey.

New Members
The Club proudly welcomes our first Husband and Wife as new members. Gordon & Jane Fry were introduced to us and sponsored by Rotarian Jennifer Hill. Gordon & Jane are both retired living in Chatham.
