The Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilita-

tion Counseling Program is designed to meet

the growing demand for qualified, profession-

ally trained clinical rehabilitation counselors

who want to work in public and private mental

health and rehabilitation agencies and institu-

tions.

The 60-semester hour sequence of study pre-

pares students to enter or continue in the coun-

seling field and develop a mastery of

knowledge and skills identified by the Council

for Accreditation of Counseling and Related

Education Programs (CACREP) as requisite

competencies for mental health & rehabilita-

tion counselors. The program fosters mental

health & rehabilitation scholars/ practitioners

to serve, directly and/or indirectly, persons

with varying disorders.

Official transcripts from all colleges/

universities attended (except from WU).

3.0 GPA

Three letters of recommendation and rat-

ing sheets from faculty and/or profession-

als in related social services fields

A completed Graduate Rehabilitation

Counseling Program application

Resume or Curriculum Vitae

A typed autobiographical statement in-

cluding: career goals and views on diver-

sity and culture

A non-refundable application fee of $40

GRE or MAT scores

Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling Program

Professional

Students who successfully complete course-

work are eligible to sit for the National Cer-

tified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) Ex-

amination or National Counselor Examina-

tion for Licensure and Certification (NCE).

Admission Requirements

Applicants must have & submit to the Graduate Program Office:

Test scores are not used in isolation but will

be considered along with the following crite-

ria: academic performance and potential, ca-

reer goals, personal characteristics, leadership

ability, and writing skills. Once materials are

reviewed, potential candidates will be called

for an interview with the Program Committee.

Have a copy of your score report sent to the Gradu-ate Program address listed in the brochure. An acceptable score on the GRE (Graduate Record Examination) or MAT (Miller Analogies Test) and should be taken within the last three years. This requirement may be waived if the cumulative un-dergraduate GPA is 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
