The purpose of providing work opportunity to differently challenged or special needs youth is not only
to provide jobs but also engagement in the wide variety of activities that it offers helps young people to

Sports activities for disadvantaged children
There are many families in UAE who cannot afford to send their children to summer camps during
school summer holidays , nor do the these children go to their home country as both parents are
working. As a result of which, many children during school holidays get confined to their houses with
limited or no opportunity to play games, socialize with other children of their age, learn new things and
be active. On the contrary they have plenty of time which gets wasted and leads to boredom.
Apparel Group’s Brand New Balance in association with BOOST, a charity initiative facilitated sports
activities for disadvantaged children in Dubai. New Balance as a part of its CSR initiative provided
transport facility for these children to move out of their houses and learn and enjoy various sports
activities to keep themselves active and stimulated.
Feedback from families and summer camp providers of the 2016 Boost programme has highlighted
the significant impact that programme has had on the children. Children that attended the camps for 2
months have reported to have an increased level of confidence, overall happiness and positive
behavior and an increased level of English language.
