JUST A THOUGHT!

As we seek to move forward, we must always be committed to reaching lost people. That is why I have been teaching the series on Sunday morning, TELL IT…! There are people all around us without Christ and God chooses to work through us individually and corporately as the body of Christ to reach these people and build His Kingdom.

Have you ever wondered why the church in the book of Acts was able to accomplish so much for the kingdom of God? Was it their high-tech buildings, cushioned seating, air conditioned facilities, elaborate sound systems and custom lighting? No, the only thing they had going for them was…

Their joy in the Lord

A genuine and sincere concern for lost people!

And the power of the Holy Spirit!

Truthfully, what more could they ask for!

Sometime ago, I read an article that Leonard Revenhill wrote for Billy Graham’s Decision Magazine in the 1970’s. It was titled, “Who Weeps Anymore?” Here is an excerpt:

“The problem with Christians in America is we’re not concerned over lost people. We’re not concerned enough to cry. A man and a woman will weep with their little pet gets run over in the street in front of their house, but that same couple has never wept one tear because their neighbor across the same street is lost with Jesus. Something is wrong. A woman will cry when her daughter walks down the aisle of a church to be married, but that same mother has never shed one tear because that same daughter has never been saved. Something’s wrong.”

It is time the church in America get serious about reaching people without Christ. These people may or may not be like us… speak our language… or have the same skin color… but they are people Jesus died for and He has planted them in this area for us to reach. I get excited when I read in Acts how the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Sometimes it was in the thousands.

We have some upcoming opportunities for you to be involved in that will, I hope, facilitate our TELLING THE STORY OF JESUS!

Kid’s Music Camp (Children’s Choir)

It has been wonderful to have our Kid’s Camp Choir lead us in worship! They did a great job! Thanks to our leaders for all their hard work in preparing and leading our children.

Sons of Jubal - Ignite Tour/Project

Many have asked about the Sons of Jubal mission trip to England and Wales. It was an amazing experience! We felt your prayers! Both Nelson and I were able to participate in this tour and project.

Thank you for lifting up the Jubals in prayer, as we sought to bring the light of the Lord through our music. We sang throughout England and Wales, as well as joining with several local groups for joint concerts.

Summer break for all Music Ministry rehearsals will be June through July. All Music Ministries will resume on August 1st.

Boomers & Beyond

The Boomers & Beyond is an active group of adults ages 55 and up. One Wednesday morning each month, the group gathers

for a Covered Dish Luncheon. There are also several music opportunities and activities especially for this group.
