THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Jonah 3:1-5, 10, 1 Corinthians 7:29-31

Mark 1:14-20

Brief Reflection: Prepare each day for the end of our earthly lives. There is an ancient practice of reflection on mortality that goes as far back as Socrates: Memento Mori, or, Remember, thou art mortal. Today’s Scriptures are perfect for the Christian spiritual practice of thinking about our life, and eventual death – a reminder that our ultimate goal in faith is to live with God after this life. Awareness of our own mortality should spur us to act righteously each day.

This weekend, January 23/24, there are envelopes available for the Catholic Communication Cam-paign (CCC). Your support helps the CCC connect people to Christ, here and around the world, through the internet, television, radio, and print media. 50% of the funds we collect remains in our diocese to support local efforts. Be a part of this campaign to spread the gospel message and support the collection today! To learn more, visit www.usccb.org/ccc. “In today’s world, it is essential for the Catholic voice to be where the people are: whether that is sharing on social networking sites, listening to MP3 players, or reading a newspaper. For the faithful or those searching for faith, CCC provides rich con-tent, bringing the gospel message one page, click, or download at a time.”

TERCER DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO Jonás 3:1-5, 10, 1 Corintios 7:29-31

Marcos 1:14-20

-Ninguna flores deben tocar estatuas.
