Introduction:-

Youth is not a period of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a matter of rosy cheeks and supple

knees; it is a matter of the will, the quality of the imagination, the vigor of the emotions; it is

the freshness of the deep springs of life. They don’t declare war; they fight and challenge for

the social change.

Naya Sawera is a youth run organization started in 2009 at Jaipur to help slum residents to

come out of the vicious circle of poverty and help HIV positive children and women to live

their life happily with pride. It believes in the motto of “Nobody can do everything, but

everyone can do something”.

Vision:-

Supporting to Home for kids with special needs in association with PWNR

Opportunities for higher education and a respect worthy life

Assurance of basic livelihood for poor people

Awareness about the environment

Women Empowerment

Aim:-

Our aim is covered under three projects:

Snehachal – Love, Care & Celebration

Happiness is perhaps one of the most basic necessities of life, it is a right that every human being has and that is what we aim to give to children through this project. This project aims to help under-privileged children and HIV infected orphans through our motive of love, care and celebration. We aim to polish these young little gems with the hope of turning them into decent citizens of tomorrow and good human beings.

Under this we are supporting a care home for children with special needs in association with Positive Women Network of Rajasthan. We are also supporting HIV infected & affected ladies by making them self-dependent and also by providing them grocery and educational support for their children.

Saksham –The Overall Community Development Programme

Saksham focuses on the overall development of families, mainly in slum areas. We constantly

work to help the poor and the destitute in becoming self-sufficient by developing human

resources like training, education, jobs, and livelihoods. We also provide direct financial

support to them. Currently we are working for the Kunda Basti Slum near Malviya Nagar

Industrial Area, Jaipur.

We aim to not only provide theoretical knowledge but also lay special emphasis over the

practical approach. There are special weekend classes where students are taught life skills,

personality development and communication skills.

Apart from this, Saksham also focuses on WOMEN EMPOWERMENT by helping the slum ladies

provide a living to themselves and their families by being trained in various aspects that would

help them make money. They are provided with stitching, beautician and art & craft courses.

Further we have established a computer lab and provide free computer education to the

people of the slum through our volunteers.

Srishti – Green Conscious

This project focuses on the environmental issues; its goal is to ensure the ability of the earth

to nurture life in all its diversity. We focus on issues like Global warming, deforestation,

wastage of energy, improper disposal of waste and etc.

We strive to inspire action, using awareness, communication, training and advocacy as

primary tools. We have weekly and monthly events and programs through which we generate

awareness among these slum areas and surroundings.

We want to aware every Indian about value of the beautiful green earth, recycling, reuse,

reduce and its advantages so that they can adopt same in their daily lifestyle and participate

for the betterment of our green present and future.

From the Founder’s Desk

We started this NGO with a basic motive of creating a change in

the society. Significant work is being done for people living with

HIV Aids infected and effected Ladies and Children’s and Youth.

The idea is to create difference in the society with the help of

youth. Our board members and volunteers either study or work

in different companies and are trying to add their contribution

in the society. We believe in the power of youth.

I would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere

gratitude towards our corporate partners, donors, staff and

volunteers for believing in us, sharing our vision and enabling us

to help underprivileged people. There are families who are financially supporting care home

kids as their own kids. Our team is hard working and determined towards its aim.

The year 2015-16 witnessed NAYA SAWERA touching new horizons. We learnt a lot from our

activities and have been constantly improving in reach and experience. We were able to affect

the lives of many slum residents, underprivileged kids, and poor pregnant ladies and helped 92

babies to get delivered in total 167(75 in year 2014-15 and 92 in year 2015-16). We also

conducted various Blood Donation Camps, Santushti Campaigns, and supported 18 Kids at

Care Home run by PWNR.

Naya Sawera is a family which is spreading its arms further.

ANNUAL EVENT- ULLAS 2015

Ullaas means “Exuberance”. This exuberance is generated by spending some quality time with

the poor children. Giving them good food, playing exciting games, gifting goodies and making

them feel a part of the society.

Ullaas 2015 was celebrated with the spirit of this togetherness. Hundreds of slum children were gathered in a beautifully decorated area. Activities such as Magic Show, dance performances, singing competitions, GK quiz and sports activities were organized which was a full filled package specially designed for them. Mouth-watering lunch was given to these children along with ice-creams and juices. Donors got to meet the child whom they were rearing under “Each One Educate One”. They danced, singed and played together. It was a one on one interaction. An emotional connect could be seen in this event. The children gathered in the event belong to lowest section of society, some are even considered untouchable. These children, who barely manage to survive till youth, feed on one time meal, covered with discarded clothes of high society and find happiness in every little thing. Some of them has suffered mental trauma due to parents divorce, harsh beatings and discrimination at every step.Few of them work at some dhabas or stalls and handling the life’s pressure at this tender age. While everyone else enjoy chocolates,ice-creams and stupid demands of toys at this age; these children are forced to work for their survival. They can only dream of such life .Giving a

day’s happiness cannot compensate but can surely give them a break from backbreaking work and a hope for better future.

This event belongs to our stakeholders and so our volunteers and interns. A time to share their

experiences and joys while serving the community. This is the youth of Rajasthan coming

forward for a noble cause. They are well aware of their responsibility and believe in giving

back to the society. It was a day engraved in our minds. A day full of laughter, hopes, smiles

and recovery.
