Want a fun Easter pro-
ject? Make a resurrec-
tion garden! It’s fun
and beautiful. You can
either Google them or
look them up on Pinter-
est. Bring your garden
to church on Easter Sun-
day to show everyone.
There will be prizes for
adults and children.
We will miss you , Pastor Jus-
tin, Kellie, Karis, & David.
May God bless you and keep
you safe and happy wherever
life takes you. Thank you for
all you’ve done for us!
RESURRECTION ROLLS FOR EASTER
What you will need:
1 pkg. crescent rolls (Or canned biscuits)
1 large marshmallow for each crescent roll
½ cup butter, melted
Cinnamon /Sugar mixture
Depending upon the age of your children, read or teach through Matthew 26-27. Then start this activity.
1. Preheat the oven to 350.
2. Hand everyone a crescent roll triangle or biscuit. (The dough represents the tomb.)
3. Give everyone a marshmallow. (Representing Jesus.)
4. Dip the marshmallows in melted butter. (Representing the embalming oils.)
5. Dip the buttered marshmallow in the cinnamon sugar. (Representing the spices used to anoint Jesus’ body.)
6. Wrap the marshmallow tightly in the crescent roll. Seal it well. (just as Jesus was tightly sealed in the tomb.)
7. Place the rolls in the oven for 10-12 minutes. (Representing the time Jesus was buried in the tomb.)
While the rolls are cooking and cooling, read/teach through Matthew 28:1-10.
8. Let the rolls cool completely. When the rolls have cooled, slice your roll open. The marshmallow is no longer there –
just as Jesus is no longer in the tomb – HE IS RISEN!!

We Are ALL The Welcoming Committee
by Dolores Pheasant
The Evangelism Committee just did a study of our
congregation. As you know, we have shrunk.
There are now 89 regular/occasional attendees
and 22 that rarely attend. There are 17 members
who need care. Our average attendance is 65,
which is 80% of members possible. That shows we
are a faithful, steady group who follow Jesus at
this church.
We are known as a friendly church, but are
you letting someone else do the welcoming for
you?
Do you acknowledge and visit with people you
don’t know at church?
Do you ever talk or sit with “new to you” peo-
ple during coffee hour?
Do you talk about our church in conversation
with friends and neighbors?
Have you ever invited children you know to
our Sunday School?
Do you use Jackie’s Pantry to take food to
someone who is ill or do you expect someone
else to do it?
We need our greeters to be at the door as people
leave at the end of the service. How about saying
“Glad you worshiped with us today, would you like
to have coffee with us?”
During our difficult times it will take ALL of us to
be the friendly, inviting, loving church we can be!
Won’t you take the challenge and be part of our
Welcome Committee?
How common is PTSD?
An estimated 7.8 percent of Americans will experi-
ence PTSD at some point in their lives, with wom-
en (10.4%) twice as likely as men (5%) to devel-
op PTSD. About 3.6 percent of U.S. adults aged
18 to 54 (5.2 million people) have PTSD during
the course of a given year. This represents a small
portion of those who have experienced at least
one traumatic event; 60.7% of men and 51.2% of
women reported at least one traumatic event.
About 30 percent of the men and women who have spent time in war zones experience PTSD. An additional 20 to 25 percent have had partial PTSD at some point in their lives. More than half of all male Vietnam veterans and almost half of all female Vietnam veterans have experienced “clinically serious stress reaction symptoms.” PTSD has also been detected among veterans of other wars. Estimates of PTSD from the Gulf War are as high as 10%. Estimates from the war in Afghanistan are between 6 and 11%. Current esti-mates of PTSD in military personnel who served in Iraq range from 12% to 20%.

THANK YOU!!
Thank you so much to all the volunteers who
worked at the Food Bank in March. They were
Sandy Archer, Donna Anderson, Connie Chad-
wick, Harold Chadwick, Lonny Holleman, Paul
Morris, and Margaret Treiber. A special thanks to
Merle Gibbons, Mary Mantz, and Phyllis Fuglie,
who volunteer all year round. I really appreciate
all of your efforts to support the mission of our
church in the Food Bank.

Valentine Dinner
Camille and Christy Price thank all who
helped with the dinner cleanup. From the din-
ner receipts, three cushioned mats were pur-
chased and placed in the kitchen to relieve foot
and leg fatigue. The remaining funds, about
$90, were given to the Pastor’s Discretionary
Fund as outreach from the UMW. Thanks to
all who came in to support. Such gatherings
seem to be an integral part of doing something
to help others. Christy and I were happy to
organize and do the dinner as a fundraiser.

“Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise” James 5:13
One of the most wonderful gifts we are given is the gift of prayer. We can pray for one another in times of need as well as times of celebration.
To join the phone prayer chain contact Dee Gray at 754-3218. To join the email prayer chain, email Sheryl at [email protected]

MEN’S GROUP
The Men’s Group will meet
for breakfast on Saturday,
April 4th, at 7:30am. Break-
fast will be served by Bob
Bluhm. All men welcome!
We met March 16th and enjoyed St. Patrick’s Day themed decora-tions, dessert, and quiz. Joan Jensen and Vivian Winters served our treats on fine bone china. The speaker, Lorraine Kane, gave a passionate accounting of the reasons for early intervention and Head Start for the pre-kindergarten and “at risk” children in our community, of which there are 250 families. She detailed the Head Start federal agency that also coordinated with the state agency to eliminate duplication.
On April 1st we will carpool at 11:15am to visit the Moses Lake UMW for a luncheon and hear speaker Tressa Cummings, UMW Seven Rivers District President.
April 8th at 9:30am we’ll gather in the Maternity & Infant Closet to “change-over” from Winter to Summer clothing. All members, please, come and help as many hands will make it speedy!
FUN & FELLOWSHIP: HONOR FLIGHTS
Pictures of the flight and the Korean Honorary
Dinner in Spokane will be shown by Marilyn
Bluhm. All those who have gone on an Honor
Flights will be honored, also information on how
to apply. Our church members who have served
in the military will be recognized. This will be a
potluck dinner, please bring your tableware.
Please come join us for this fun event on April
9th, at 6pm. Hope to see you there!
Does anyone have a Fun & Fel-
lowship idea or program for
May? Let us know if you do!
