THE OBJECTIVES of SMALL GROUPS

WE STRIVE TO KEEP CHRIST AT THE CENTER OF OUR SMALL GROUPS.

“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:20

Our format keeps us focused on Jesus Christ, who is at the center of every small group. We use the weekly Gospel message as one means of encountering Christ. Although we enjoy a time of fellowship, our gatherings stay “on topic”, as we discuss our faith.

Cooking for Domestic Violence Survivors

The Latina Project, an outreach by the women of Holy Martyrs and our sister parish, La Sagrada Familia, provides a meal once a month during a support meeting for women who are survivors of domestic violence. You can help by providing part of a light meal, spending time with the women or babysitting during their meeting. The next meeting is July 16. An invitation to help is emailed to parishioners each month. Food needs to be dropped off at Holy Martyrs until 1 p.m. Sunday and until 3 p.m. Monday before each meeting. Men’s Group Indians Game The Holy Martyrs Men’s Group would like to invite the men of the parish to join them on a trip to see the Cleveland Indians play the Los Angeles Angels on Friday, August 3rd. This is a Dollar Dog and Fireworks Night! Bus transportation will be provided from Holy Martyrs to Progressive Field. The bus will leave Holy Martyrs parking lot at 6:00 pm for the 7:10 pm game. The cost will be $50 per person, which includes bus transportation and a ticket to the game. Make checks payable to Holy Martyrs Church. July Friendship Meal at Sagrada Familia Come join us to cook and serve a summer-themed meal for our neighbors in need on Saturday, July 14th. We will cook the meal in the Holy Martyrs Kitchen on Saturday morning (10 a.m.-noon) and serve the meal at Sagrada Familia Parish in Cleveland the same afternoon (2-6 p.m.). We are asking for food donations for our picnic-themed meal such as already-cooked pulled pork (optional recipe will be provided), watermelon, canned beans (for our homemade baked bean recipe), pasta salad and ice cream sandwiches. Our guests also love gift donations such as Giant Eagle Gift cards (for bus passes). Please sign up for cooking, serving or donating via Signup Genius, which is sent in an email from the parish.
