“The lessons from the peace process are clear;
whatever life throws at us, our individual responses
will be all the stronger for working together and sharing the load.”
– Queen Elizabeth II
“Working together” the Hastings LOOP launched with community investment
of time and dollars, resulting in providing over 600 rides to date. Adequate
transportation options are essential for older adults. DARTS is committed to
fi nding innovative solutions to fi ll transportation gaps.
“Sharing the load” was invaluable for our client database upgrade. Funding
partners, nonprofi t organizations and skill-based volunteers resulted in
process improvements and software that will scale with DARTS. And the
need is growing: 10% more people asked for home cleaning and lawn
services than in 2015 and 20% more seniors discovered DARTS home repair
services.
“Stronger together” as Learning Buddies celebrates its 20th school year.
These caring adults touch over 5,000 students’ lives annually. 2016 has
focused on cultural inclusiveness, uniting us all.
We are adapting by adding services to support caregivers and those with
dementia and forging new partnerships to ensure we have the workforce to
serve all who need home services. You are critical to helping us thrive. Invest
in innovation by contributing:
• Tell others about DARTS to ensure those in need are served
• Join the nearly 1,000 volunteers at DARTS
• Tell us where you see service gaps that DARTS might fi ll
Our actions are stronger because you share in our work.
Together we are creating connections that enrich aging.
Thank you.
ANN BAILEY, DARTS PRESIDENT

I ex-plained I would be going to work… “oh”, he said. “You have two jobs?” “No”, I replied. “I read because I want to.” His response to that, “Oh, you work one job for your pocket and the other for your soul!”

Verret, Paul and Carolyn
I have always felt an obligation to
volunteer and give back to the community. My career was focused in
housing, and I have a soft spot in my heart for causes which help older adults.
As my mom needed assistance, she discovered DARTS and the services they could off er. She was so proud that she was able to use DARTS to go to the grocery store or beauty shop because it
was a piece of independence. I was happy for her because I could see that DARTS was giving her more than just a ride – they were
providing her that freedom and dignity.
I give to DARTS because they helped my mom. And, as a Board member, I see fi rsthand what wonderful custodians they are with
the donations they receive. I smile when I see my name in the Annual Report, thinking about how thrilled mom would have
been to show her friends. Thank you for joining me in supporting DARTS and the
work they do.
