Life U Athletics

Key Achievements for 2018-19Rugby

Women’s Rugby: D1 Elite National Runner-Up.

Men’s Rugby: Men’s varsity program beat Cal 29-26 to become back-to-back D1A National Champions.

Harley Wheeler won the 2019 Scholz Award – which is awarded to the country’s top collegiate male rugby player.

WrestlingNosomy Pozo became one of only a handful of collegiate wrestlers at any level to win four national championships during their career. Pozo was a two-time NJCAA National Champion, then was a two-time NAIA National Champion at Life University.

Our men’s wrestling team earned a third place finish, LIFE’s highest ever, at the NAIA National Championship.

Women’s wrestling earned LIFE’s first ever wrestling conference championship.

Track and FieldWomen’s track had two NAIA national runners-up (Bria Sands and Iantha Wright).

SwimmingLife U Swim Coach Patrick Sonsteng earned Mid-South Conference Coach of the Year.

ActivitiesLife University has become the largest athletics department in metro-Atlanta.

The Running Eagles Club, a fundraising arm for Life University Athletics, started in the summer of 2019.

Life University inducted their very first Hall of Fame class November 1-2, 2019.
