Before you begin: You must be logged in with your Active Directory (AD) credentials before you can proceed with the instructions below. If this is your first time using the Parks Management application or you have any issues logging in, please contact Timothy Speyrer. Before you begin, you need to contact the webteam to create an announcement page. If the announcement is new, add an announcement. If an existing announcement requires editing, edit an announcement. How to Add an Announcement 1. Under “Announcements,” click Add Announcement. 2. Under “Title,” copy and paste the title exactly as it appears from the announcement page. Before you begin:

You must be logged in with your Active Directory (AD) credentials before you can proceed with the instructions

Before you begin, you need to contact the webteam to create an announcement page.

If the announcement is new, add an announcement.

If an existing announcement requires editing, edit an announcement.

How to Add an Announcement 1. Under “Announcements,” click Add Announcement.

2. Under “Title,” copy and paste the title exactly as it appears from the announcement page. Titles should be short,

to the point, and title case. For title case formatting help, use https://capitalizemytitle.com/.

3. Under “Type,” if an announcement is about a closure, warning, or hazardous condition, select Red. If an

announcement is informational, select Green.

4. Under “Article URL”, enter the web address of the article of the announcement provided by the webteam.

5. Under “Posted date (format mm/dd/yyyy)”, enter the posted date for the announcement.

6. Under “Description,” enter the announcement description. Descriptions must include the full name of the

park(s) and the first two sentences of the announcement.

o e.g.

Tom Hughes Park is now closed for the off season until April 1, 2019.

The reservation system for Hamilton Pool Preserve is now accepting reservations for 2019.

Due to flooding Pace Bend Park, Hippie Hollow Park, and Hamilton Pool Preserve are closed.

7. Under “Announcement will appear on these selected pages,” select the park(s) to assign the announcement.

on these selected pages,” make necessary updates.

How to Archive an Announcement In situations that require you to remove the news blurb from park page(s).

1. Find the Announcement and click Edit.

2. Under “Alert will appear on these selected pages,” deselect all parks.

3. Click Save.

Notes

Remember these accompany announcement pages, which are for events or items of media note.

You are required to include a date in the description of each item.

List every park full name that the announcement pertains to in the description of the alert.

Use “[URL=https://www.website.com]URL TITLE[/URL]” to add a link to the announcement in the first two

sentences of the description.
