    WHAT IS SIMULATION?

    A common definition of a simulation is areproduction of an item or event.

    Simulations can be produced in allfields through computer games, role-plays, or building models.

    GOAL OF SIMULATION

    To mimic, or simulate, a real system so thatwe can explore it, perform experiments on

    it, and understand it before implementing itin the real world

    Applying knowledge gained through

    exposure to simulation, is the mainpurpose of simulation education

    SIMULATION

    Involves learners confronting a scaled-downversion of a real-life situation.

    It allows realistic practice without theexpense or risks otherwise involved.

    Simulation may involve participant dialog,manipulation materials and equipment, orinteraction with a computer.

    Can be used to the whole class or smallgroups working together.

    ADVANTAGES OF SIMULATION;

    Simulation can represent something that is toolarge or too complex to bring into theclassroom.

    e.g The learning about engine

    Safety. Simulation provides a safe way toengage in learning experience.

    Hands-on. Students have an opportunity forhands-on experience.

    Variety of ability levels. Students of all abilitylevels can be included in the expensive.

    LIMITATIONS OF SIMULATION;

    Questionable presentation. A simulation maynot be truly representative, or it may give afalse sense of security for some students.

    Complexity. An activity may become toocomplex or intense for the classroom setting.

    Novelty may be difficult.

    VISUAL ANALYSER

    One software that can be used for simulation is VisualAnalyser.

    Can act as mini Oscilloscope that can be installed in

    every computer. Can show directly the shape of sinus wave, can

    generate sound wave

    Enhance the better understanding towards the concept

    of wave.

    Differences between simulationand animations

    SIMULATION ANIMATION

    Simulation of dynamic systems

    b) physical properties

    c) governing laws of physics to

    predict or model motionreproducing a sequence of

    events.

    To animate is to make or design in

    such a way as to create

    apparently spontaneous lifelike

    movement.
