Rio Grande Engine No. 168 After 50 years of continuous operation, Engine No. 168 was donated to the city of Colorado Springs, in memory of William Jackson Palmer. He was the founder of Colora-do Springs and the Denver & Rio Grande Railway. The Baldwin Locomotive Works built the engine in 1883.
