Disruption in Service Delivery to
Students in Purpose Built Student
Accommodation (PBSA)
Myth Busting in PBSA:
Turning the traditional accommodation model on its head to create a unique
student engagement approach
Myth #1:
It’s all about the accommodation and internet
Myth #2:
It’s all about pricing in an increasingly competitive landscape
(i.e students aren’t prepared to pay premium prices)
Myth #3:
Proactive, high service model and expansive student experience program costs money to execute
Our Approach: Research and data is key to everything (customer centricity)
Extensive student research tells us (loudly & clearly):
• Connecting to new friends, the community and Australian culture is a key priority for international students and is critical to their happiness and decision making
• Language is a key issue (before and during the experience here)
• They want to feel like they are in a “home away from home”
• Safety and security are also critical issues & decision drivers
• Room features are important but not critical
• Price is not as sensitive for many demographics

Our Approach A unique student engagement approach
