Drafting anD Design technology
Glendale Union High School District
The Drafting and Design Technology program is designed to prepare students
to apply technical skills to create working drawings and computer simulations for a variety of applications. Class instruction includes specification interpretation, dimensioning techniques, drafting calculations, material estimation, technical communications, computer applications and interpersonal communications. Instruction also includes computer assisted design and drafting to create two-dimensional and three-dimensional engineering designs.

Graduation RequirementsandCTE Opportunities
The Glendale Union High School District diploma is designed to satisfy the graduation requirements established by the State Board of Education and those of the GUHSD Governing Board. Meeting these minimum requirements will result in a high school diploma. Additional credits are required for acceptance into a college or university, and results in an “endorsed” diploma. The required twenty credits (minimum) or twenty three credits (endorsement) are earned by taking the following required courses:
4 credits of Language Arts3 credits of Social Studies2 credits of Science (3 credits for endorsement)2 credits of Math (4 credits for endorsement)1 credit of Fine Arts OR CTE (Fine Arts for endorsement)1 credit of Physical Education(2 credits of Foreign Language for endorsement)
• 5-7 credits of ELECTIVES can be selected from the course offerings for each high school. Consider exploring your desired career path through related CTE courses.
