Anais LOVED so deeply! She adored her family and friends with the kind of love that could hold you for a lifetime. Anais was always smiling, joking and laughing - so young and carefree just doing her own thing. She could naturally fill the room with positive love, light and energy just by being herself. She loved nature, being outdoors and fireworks! She was a pyromaniac!

Anais loved music, karaoke, playing the ukulele and piano. She loved to rap, make music, and record tracks. She had been working on getting her songs recorded for years. She spent any free time working on her music. She told all of us, “Watch! One day I am going to be famous.”

She was a hard worker, a go-getter and fast learner. She would make things happen. A real self-starter. She handled her business and worked hard to get where she was today. She wanted to take care of herself, be independent and not have anyone worry about her. One of the last things she said was, “Don’t worry, Mom. I got this. You don’t have to worry about me anymore.”

She was just starting her 2nd quarter at Tacoma Community College (TCC) and was on track to pursue her goal to attend WSU and fulfill her dream to become a veterinarian. She was so smart! She had just taken on calculus and chemistry. The President of TCC sent the family the following message, “I know that I speak on behalf of the entire college community when I say that we are truly sorry for your loss of Anais. I didn’t have the opportunity to meet her but have already heard so many great things about her from her faculty members.”

Anais loved sports, and playing sports with her family was her favorite. She was always up for throwing the ball around, playing catch with the fam. She loved badminton, I loved to sit and watch them play. She played basketball, soccer, and fast pitch in elementary and middle school. Her favorite was fast pitch, she loved playing catcher and she loved Coach Kati!

She loved her family. LOVED her siblings and cousins! She spent most of her time hanging out with her brothers, sisters, and cousins. I am going to miss walking past Beau’s room and seeing the two of them in there, hanging out and laughing, playing video games. One of the last texts from her was asking if Beau could spend the night Saturday to play video games.

Anais loved her dad so much! She was his baby girl. She loved hanging out with all the family. They spent a lot of time together and went to the Philippines to spend time with family there. Her cousins and step-siblings were her best friends. Her Aunt lived close by and Nai would spend a lot of time hanging out with the cousins and siblings there. They were all close in age and her bond with each of them is deeply rooted.

Anais LOVED her friends!!! She had the BEST of friends and she loved them so much! It was so fun having a full house of teenagers. We loved getting to watch these girls grow up. They are family for life. Her favorite thing to do was hang out and play video games with everyone. Her apartment was left in exactly that way: the TV and PlayStation still on, bag of taquitos from 7-11 on the bed, uneaten. Lights were still on waiting for them to get back so they could hang out and enjoy living life.

She was so fun to hang out with. We could talk for hours. We had so many deep conversations this past year. I am so grateful for that time spent with her. We talked about everything.

One of the revelations I had in the quiet morning after her passing was her voice, so sweet, so clear… She said, “I’m OK, Mom. I’m outta here!”.
