AIMS EASTERN REGION CONVENTION 2018

The newly emerging educational universe calls for new institutional arrangements, recalibrating the business educational models and replacing those that have become obsolete for the current industry norms. The top business schools of the world are preparing themselves to make strategical choices amongst the different knowledge domains and the accompanying delivery systems, keeping in mind the competitive positioning of the institution. At this juncture, the role of quality assurance and accreditation process in business education have achieved greater significance.

Quality assurance is a planned and systematic review process of an institution or program to determine whether or not acceptable standards of education, scholarship, and infrastructure are being met, maintained and enhanced. A broad range of factors that affect quality include institutions’ vision, mission and goals, leadership & governance, the talent and expertise of the faculty members, the quality of institution-industry interface, research work, infrastructural facilities, the quality and ambience of the library, accessibility to online journals, and a host of other factors that facilitate in value addition to every process and systems of the institution.

Accreditation is the formal evaluation of an organization or program against

the best practices at National and International levels. It is both a status and a

process. As a status, it signifies that an organization or program meets

standards of quality set forth by the Accrediting body. As a process, it involves

an in-depth self-review of an organization or program against currently

accepted best practice standards, an onsite visit by an evaluation team

comprised of experts, and a subsequent review and decision by the

Accrediting body. Basing on the recommendations of the Evaluation Team the

Institution sets a standard of operation that articulates a level of quality

developed by subject matter experts that will be implemented and maintained

by an organization or program pursuing accreditation and an accredited

organization or program.

In this context, AIMS Eastern Region Convention and a two days International
