Ÿ100 plus students were involved during the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2008 to assist with different activities for the smooth conduct of the event.

Many parents spend their hard earned money for their child’s higher education. Some parents take loans and at times mortgage their property / jewelry to borrow money for their child’s higher education. We at IIEBM make it a point that the parent’s efforts to afford their child’s higher education will not go in vain and they shall get every rupee’s worth invested by them.

IIEBM has a very hygienic and spacious multi cuisine cafeteria with a juice bar and live snacks counter. The cafeteria is managed and run by a professional Catering Company which has the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) approval.

Students are provided breakfast, lunch, evening tea and dinner on a regular basis. Menu for meals is jointly decided by the Student Food Committee, Administrative Officer of the Institute & Catering Company representatives. Guidance from nutritionists is also sought prior to finalizing the menu.

In an era where knowledge workers constitute majority work force of organizations, it is highly imperative for students to be knowledgeable and not just educated.

In this module students are required to select a book from a wide selection of books available in the library and prepare a review on the same. They are also required to present the lessons drawn and learnings taken from that book to the entire batch, thus improving their own communication and presentation skills as well as making their batch mates aware of different books.

Movies, theatre and literature are a reflection of society, social behavior, prevailing business, political and cultural environment. In this module, students are shown movies on varied themes like leadership, motivation, goal setting, inter-personal behavior etc.In the past, movies like Chak De India, Iqbal, Lagaan, Reach for the Sky, Bridge on The River Kwai, Guns of Navarone, Goal, Ek Ruka Hua Faisla, Corporate etc have been screened.After a movie is screened, there is a de-briefing session, where different aspects, learnings and lessons drawn from the movie are discussed and debated. Students are required to submit a review of the movie screened and lessons drawn from it.

Every student is provided with a personal copy of the Economic Times Newspaper during their two years stay at IIEBM. Special sessions are conducted by Economists / faculty members with an Economics background on helping students understand different terms and concepts in the paper as well as discuss different news articles. Students are also required to give presentations on topics from different sections of the paper. A weekly quiz is conducted on the Economic Times Newspaper which is mandatory for all students and carries a high weightage in the internal assessment of students.

Every student is provided with a personal copy of the HBR during their two years stay at IIEBM.

Every week, different articles are discussed during specific sessions ear-marked for review of the HBR. Students are required to submit hand-written reviews of certain selected articles on a weekly basis which are assessed by the faculty in charge.

In this module, students are required to read, discuss and analyze business magazines and journals available in the library. Students are then formed in different groups, where they are required to make presentations of the articles reviewed by them to their batch mates.

English is the lingua franca of the networked global economy. This module lays focus on improving the student’s written communication (Formal Letters, Memos, Reports, Minutes of Meetings etc.) & verbal communication (Pronunciation, Spoken English, MTI, Voice Modulation, Presentations Skills etc.).

With the world becoming a Global Village, it is necessary that students know about different countries, their economies, culture, businesses etc. Students are required to select a country of their choice and do a detailed study on that country. A report has to be prepared which is assessed and subsequent to that students are required to give a presentation on the country researched / studied.

A challenging and crucial aspect associated with management is the art of decision making and strategy formulation. Looking at management in the 21st century, decision making has become even more complex as trends are rapidly changing. Market Surveys constitute an important part of PEP activities, where groups of students are required to carry out surveys using a questionnaire, do data analysis & interpretation and subsequently present their findings by means of a report and group presentations. This module helps students to understand and develop skills relating to collecting and interpreting data and using it as a platform for effective decision making.

In keeping with our mission to develop tomorrow's global leaders and entrepreneurs, students are required to draw up a realistic business plan which is bankable and marketable, based on field surveys and market research. At IIEBM, it is our constant endeavor to give our students the highest levels of Industry Interaction.

Having completed over a decade in the field of Management Education, we have a strong alumni base who are at fairly senior positions in Indian and Multi National companies. We have also cultivated strong relationships with people from the Industry over the years.

One day per week (of every week in a semester) is dedicated for Industry Interaction where activities like Guest Lectures, Workshops, Seminars, Field Studies, Market Surveys, Live Projects, Industrial Visits etc are arranged. There are bi-annual events like HR Meets, National Level Seminars etc in addition to the above. We endeavor to give our students a platform to get an exposure to people from the Corporate World where they can showcase their knowledge, competence and skill sets.

Our aim is not just to place students but rather groom them and make them a perfect fit for the corporate world. A Post Graduate Management Program is an induction of a student to the corporate world.

Despite knowing that placements is one of the major concern of a student while deciding on a B-school from the admission point of view, we urge you to realize that B-

schools are NOT placement agencies. Jobs are ample but what is not ample is competent people with good knowledge, skill sets and right attitude.

We expect students to put in their best efforts and work hard during their two years stay at IIEBM and improve themselves and not just expect jobs at the end of the course. Students have to bear in mind that even if we have the best Placement Team in place, it is eventually them, who have to perform well in the recruitment process of companies which is becoming tougher by the day.

Many companies have an Aptitude Test, followed by Group Discussions and Personal Interviews as part of their selection process. Some companies have introduced Psychometric Assessment also as part of the selection process.

Some companies have an eligibility criterion where a candidate must have secured minimum 60% in his / her 10th, 12th, Graduation and 1st Year of the PG program to be eligible.

It is the duty of the Institute to get good openings for students in companies across different Industry Verticals & Specializations and it is the responsibility of students to perform well and get selected. We have maintained a placement track record of 94% - 96% for the past 10 plus years and are confident of maintaining and further improving the same.

An institute can get the best companies to the campus, but eventually selection entirely depends on the performance of a candidate.

INDUSTRIAL VISITSEvery semester students are sent to some of the leading manufacturing companies in Pune region for Industrial Visits. FIELD SURVEYS AND LIVE PROJECTSStudents are attached with the industry to carry out Field Surveys and Market Research for them in different areas. All students have to undergo a mandatory Live Project as part of their course curriculum.

WINTER AND SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAMAll students have to undergo two internships as part of the PGDM Program.

The Winter Internship is for a duration of 3 weeks which commences on completion of the first semester. This internship has to be done with an NGO. Some NGOs where our students have done their Winter Internships in the past are Concern India Foundation (CIF), CRY, Dignity Foundation, Blue Cross Society of Pune, Akansha etc to name a few.

The Summer Internship is for a duration of 8 weeks which commences on completion of the second semester. This internship has to be done with Indian / Multi-National companies. List of companies where our students have done their Summer Internship in the past are mentioned in the ‘Our Recruiters & Trainers’ section of the Prospectus.

We attach students for their Summer Internship based on their specializations and in companies where they would like to eventually make a career. We have had a fairly successful ratio of SIPs being converted into PPOs in the past.

FINAL PLACEMENTSSince inception, we have had an enviable placement track record of 94% - 96% with salaries ranging from INR 3.8 to INR 6 lacs per annum (CTC) and highest salary of INR 15 lacs per annum.

Students with First Class & above (performance in 10th, 12th, Graduation & 1st Year of PGDM Program) are offered higher salaries.

We have had a fairly good number of International Placement where salaries vary from country to country. The highest salary being drawn by our Alumni – Mr. Rohit Puri who was placed with Dell Inc., USA is INR 140 lacs per annum.

Every year we have companies visiting our Campus for their Pre Placement Talk and Campus Interviews. In the past, we have conducted many joint Campus Placement Drives where students from other campuses come to our campus for the recruitment drive.

At IIEBM, we have Placement Guidelines which students have to follow and abide by in order to be eligible for the Internships and Final Placements. Students not abiding by the Placement Guidelines or not performing well in their Academics, Internal Assessments, Personality Enrichment Program (PEP) etc shall be given low priority or at times even debarred from Placement Activities.

At IIEBM we encourage a participative management culture whereby most student activities are coordinated by the Student Council

and different Student Committees. This ensures development of managerial and leadership skills and also makes students

accountable and responsible for their actions.

We believe that students, who shall be future managers and leaders, must be part of conceptualizing and coordinating different

activities at the institute and take responsibility for successful execution.

For the same we have a Student Council which is headed by a President, Vice President and different Committees which comprise of

students.

The members for the same are selected by the Management after inviting applications from volunteer students for different posts

based on their past academic performance / track record or similar posts they have held during their college days.

The Student Council and Committee Members would be required to function in conjunction and coordination with different

departments at the Institute.

The President, Vice-President of the Student Council or any of the different Student Committees can meet the Director / Academics

in-charge / Administrative Officer on any issues with prior appointments.

FORMATION OF AN INSTITUTION BASED ROTARACT AT IIEBM

Since the time of inception we at IIEBM always believed in giving back to society, the nation and environment in some way or the other. We were associated with SOS villages, Concern India Foundation (CIF), CRY and many more social and charitable organizations.

We also encouraged and involved our students in different activities we did like teaching children English in rural schools, assisting in the flood affected areas of Bihar and Orissa by establishing food distribution centers, organizing blood donation camps, distributing food packets to nearby Slum Dwellers, assisting Traffic Police as traffic wardens etc.

I was inducted into the Rotary family in the year 2005 where our Club – The Rotary Club of Khadki, Pune had been undertaking and executing a lot of social and environmental projects like providing water purification systems to people in the Pilpelgaon Jodha region, providing better sanitation facilities to the people in rural areas, providing aid to the physically disabled children, launching a Skin Bank Project to save the lives of people who die from skin burns etc, to name a few.

After my first year at Rotary, I was appointed Director – Youth, where one of the agendas under my scope of activities was to establish a Rotaract Club. This made me think that if all students from IIEBM got an opportunity to become part of Rotaract, they would be able to reach out to the underprivileged sections of the society in a better and much more structured manner.

At the same time, during regular Guest Lectures which are organized at the institute, we had invited Rotarian Ashok Malhotra for a talk to our students. He also is the father of late Capt Rishi Malhotra, who had made a supreme sacrifice for our country by laying down his life during the Kargil operation. Capt Rishi Malhotra was awarded the Param Veer Chakra (posthumous) – the highest gallantry award in the Indian Army, by the President of India.

During the address of Rotarian Ashok Malhotra, he made a mention about his son who had declined an opportunity to do his further studies in XLRI and instead opted to join the Indian Army to serve the motherland. What struck me while he was mentioning about his son was how his son had developed leadership qualities in his younger days when he was part of Rotaract.

Hearing him talk about his son as well as keeping our institutional aim of giving back to society, I decided to establish the Institution based Rotaract Club at IIEBM and make all students part of Rotaract.

Since then, there has been no looking back. Our students have been actively doing a number of projects, thus contributing towards the society along with pursuing their Management Studies at IIEBM.

I firmly feel that the youth must be a part of Rotaract and give back to the society and the nation in some way or the other.

The team under leadership of Rtn. Dr. Jai Singh commenced their journey on 30th September 2011 (September being

New Generation month of Rotary) from the 'Tower of Victory' in Chittorgarh Fort to their Institute in Pune, covering a

distance of 1100 Kms through states of Rajasthan, MP & Maharashtra.

The reason for beginning the journey from the 'Tower of Victory' was on account of its significance as a monument which symbolizes victory, which is what the group wanted to achieve in their mission. (The 'Tower of Victory' was constructed by Maharana Kumbha in 1440 AD to commemorate his victory over Mohammed Khilji).

Participation in World Polio Day Cycle Rally

Mission – RACE was flagged off by Rotarian Ratnesh P. Kashyap, DG – 2011-12, R C Jaipur South, along with President & other members of Rotary Club of Chittorgarh.

The team completed the mission using a vehicle commonly used by farmers from regions of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan & UP known as a 'Kissan Gadi', or 'Jugad' with an intention of being able to establish rapport with the vast rural population they would meet on the way.

En-route to Pune we halted in different villages & towns to make announcements about Rotary's mission to eradicate Polio from the face of the earth. We also visited small hamlets, spoke to local villagers regarding their awareness of Polio, investigated whether they were giving polio drops to their children & also cleared their misconception that Polio drops lead to impotency.

We interacted with over 15 Rotary Clubs (Rotary Club's of Chittorgarh, Mandsaur, Nagda, Ujjain, Indore, Burhanpur, Mhow, Sendhwa, Dhulia, Ahmednagar etc) and made them aware of the agendas of Mission – RACE, especially the Skin Bank Project. The team was invited to the Rotaract District Assembly at Indore on 2nd October 2011 where they donated Blood at the Blood Donation Camp organized by Rotaract Club IET at Bombay Hospital.

Being in the field of Education for over a decade, Prof. Dr. Jai Singh, wanted his students who are also Rotaractors to set an example to the youth from different schools and colleges to join Rotaract, take up projects of similar nature & contribute towards society & nation in a positive manner.

While on our way from Ahmednagar to Pune, the team met Shri Anna Hazare and briefed him about Mission – RACE and its agendas and showed him the vehicle used for the mission.

The team entered Pune on 5th October 11.30 pm and reached our final destination at 12.30 am. The mission which commenced on 30th September 2011 from the 'Tower of Victory' with a goal of being victorious, was completed on 6th October which also happened to be a day of victory –– 'Vijayadashmi'.

Shrimant Ram Raje Naik Nimbalkar, Rajasahab of Phaltan, Ex Minister for Water Resources, MKDVC, Govt. of Maharashtra visited the campus to see the vehicle and meet members of Mission – RACE.

Mr. Sharad Pawar, Minister of Agriculture & Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Distribution, Govt. of India, appreciated the idea of Mission – RACE and gave his best wishes to the team members.

As the escort vehicle used to accomplish Mission – RACE was a Tata Safari, Rtn. Prakash Telang Ex. MD India Operations – Tata Motors met the team and signed the banner of Mission – RACE.

Some of the other people who saw the Kissan Gadi and signed the banner of Mission – RACE were Rtn. Mohan Palesha (DG 2011-12), Shrimant Sanjeev Raje Naik Nimbalkar, Rtn. Vandana Chavan, Mrs. Pratima Kirloskar, Mr. Vishwajeet Kadam (Maharashtra Youth Congress President) etc to name a few.

It was a matter of great pride for Rtn. Dr. Jai Singh and his team of Rotaractors as the Kissan Gadi on which they travelled from Chittrogarh to Pune to accomplish the agendas of Mission – RACE was used for the World Polio Day Cycle Rally at Pune on 23rd October from Bremen Chowk to Apte Prashala.

Rotaract Interaction Core Team Mission RACE

In today`s global economy, we feel that theory supplemented with real life experiences can be the best way for students to be able to correlate theory with practice and initiate global thinking.

With this aim in mind, we introduced the Global Exposure Program as part of the course structure where students are sent for a Foreign Tour during the Second Academic Year for a duration of a week.

Developing Economies in the Asia Pacific region are preferred for the Global Exposure Program. Students are required to conduct a detailed study on the country being visited and prepare reports on areas like Governance & Administration, Industrial Environment, Public Transport System & Logistics, opportunities for Trade and Commerce with India and also Entrepreneursip in that country.

Visits are organized to Educational Institutes, Industries, Public Facilities, Ports, etc with a view to expose students to best practices being implemented.

In the spare time students are taken around to places of tourist interest, malls, general site seeing, cultural shows etc. Interaction with the Rotaract clubs of that country are also arranged as all our students are part of the Rotaract fraternity.

Students have visited destinations like Singapore and China in the past as part of the Global Exposure Program.

1. The Global Exposure Program (Foreign Tour) is in addition to the

tuition fee (details of the same mentioned in fee structure).

2. The additional charges will include travel by air, visa processing

charges, airport taxes, local travel in foreign country, accommodation,

entry passes / coupons, all meals etc.

3. All expenses except personal expenses and shopping are included in

GEP fees.

4. Students who do not have passports and are keen for the GEP are

advised to apply for the same at the earliest, so as to keep the passport

ready by end of First Academic Year.

5. GEP (Foreign Tour) is not mandatory and those students not keen on

the GEP shall be attached with the Industry for an internship.

6. No refund is admissible if a student confirms his willingness for GEP

as advance bookings are required to be done by the Institute and

advance payments are made to avail best price for air travel and

accommodation.

7. The duration of the GEP shall be for a week depending on the Dollar

rate. If the rates are high, the duration shall be reduced accordingly.

Evaluation of student’s progress is a continuous process. At IIEBM, we believe in a system of continuous evaluation where students are assessed on a regular basis along over and above the mid and end semester examinations.

Examinations / Re-Examination / Re-assessment / Backlogs:

Absence from internal exams, viva-voce, practicals and non-submission of assignments in time will make student ineligible for internal assessment. No excuses for the same will be entertained.

Students will be given the opportunity for re-examination in subjects, they have failed or would like to improve their percentage.

Exam fee per subject will be charged for all backlogs / re-examinations / re-assessment of papers. Application form for the re-assessment / re-checking should be submitted within 7 days of the declaration of result or the dates declared from time to time along with the prescribed fee.

Students shall be allowed to carry maximum of 3 backlogs from any one or more semesters. Students with more than 3 backlogs will not be eligible for Internship (Winter and Summer) and Final Placement assistance by the Institute.

Students joining IIEBM are thus expected to behave in a mature manner, just like what would be expected of a manager when he joins the Corporate World.

Students will be treated with dignity and respect and we would expect the same from them. Every successful corporate entity and its employees stand out from other organizations by the culture and code of conduct that exists in their respective organizations. We too, at IIEBM have a culture and code of conduct for which our students are found to stand apart from their contemporaries and counterparts.

We repose a lot of trust and faith in students and hence will be extremely happy and privileged if we are spared of taking unpleasant actions, by students being self disciplined and of good character and behavior.

Students are trained for bright corporate careers through various scientific grooming processes which involve healthy lifestyle. The word 'Discipline' for us implies adherence to a civilized way of life and following the Code of Conduct. Therefore, strict discipline will be an essential part of the training process and defaulters will be dealt with appropriately.

Decision of the Management will be final and binding on all the students. The Code of Conduct mentioned below is meant to regulate discipline in our campus as well as get students geared up to meet expectations of the Corporate world. The Administrative Officers as well as the Academic Faculties have been empowered to take suitable action / levy fines against students not adhering to the Code of Conduct of the Institute. The Administrative Officers as well as the Academic Faculties have been empowered to levy fines against students not adhering to the Code of Conduct of the Institute. The fines thus collected will go to the Student's Welfare Fund which is utilized for welfare activities of students. Details of fines for non-adherence of Code of Conduct are displayed on the notice board.

Attending classes and learning from learned instructors is a critical step towards growth and development of students, as the relevant skills required by the Industry have to be learnt in a systematic and progressive manner through class room instruction. Consistency in attendance is therefore a pre-requisite. Absence from classes leads to discontinuity in learning process and defeats the very approach of progressive learning, as subjects taught are inter-related and missing one session may lead to a break in the learning process / difficulty in following what is being taught in the next / ensuing session.

Consequently, it is not only difficult for students, but may put them under tremendous pressure leading to stress, frustration and depression. We have come across quite a few cases where students have become psychiatric cases because of the rigorous academic pressure. Therefore, attending classes regularly is essential for any student who joins a good management institution. Similarly, studying at the hostel / home regularly everyday shall lead to expected growth and development.

At times due to the paucity of time on account of the vast syllabus that has to be covered and other activities like corporate interaction, extracurricular activities etc, classes have to be held on Sundays also. Neither does IIEBM believe in the concept of holidays.

Each and every class is critical for the learning process and therefore no requests on account of medical grounds / any other grounds for exemption from attendance shall be accepted. Parents are advised to please understand the constraint of their child who has a medical history and discourage them to take up our stressful management program, which is very hectic in nature with prolonged hours throughout the year. Such students may undergo tension & depression and may not be able to express their difficulties either to their parents or the management which can result in affecting their overall morale and performance. At IIEBM, requirements of the learning process are stringent in nature and cannot be changed.

Students are required to maintain a minimum of 90% attendance in every semester. It would be appropriate to mention here that one should not get disturbed in the mind and understand that attendance criteria provides sufficient cushion as the permissible limit of absence is 10% in every semester.

If one calculates the total number of days in every semester, one can legitimately be absent from classes on account of sickness or other important contingencies, for nearly 8 – 10 days, provided the student attends all classes regularly from the beginning and saves the 10% attendance for contingencies.

To be away from class for casual reasons cannot be justified. We, as an Institute, cannot restrict the movement of students. There is no system of leave with attendance. Grant of leave means permission to remain away from the campus on personal reasons which cannot entitle grant of attendance.

Parents of students absenting themselves from scheduled classes for more than 3 consecutive days without valid / justifiable reasons will be required to come and meet the Management of the Institute.

It is also to be noted that students cannot remain absent from scheduled classes and stay back in their hostel rooms, unless and until they are not well. No half day leave shall be granted and students are advised not to approach the management for the same. There shall be power off in hostel blocks during academic sessions (this is done to discourage students from bunking classes and staying back in their rooms).

The students are unlikely to have holidays during the first six months as this is the transformation period. Classes may also be held on Sundays. There will be no vacations during or after any semester. We will utilize all the days of the year to sharpen and hone the knowledge and

competitive skills of our students so that money invested by parents leads to building a productive career of their wards.

Parents are also advised not to approach the management for their wards to be permitted / granted leave especially during festivals like Diwali, Dussehra, Christmas etc.

Students are expected report to the Institute 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time at the gate in the morning and be inside the classrooms 5 minutes before the commencement of the class.

Those who reach for the class late will have to pay a fine which shall go to the 'Students Welfare Fund'. Similarly after entering the class they are not allowed to leave the class till the session gets over.

However in case of contingencies such as on medical ground the student concerned is expected to inform the Academic In-charge before leaving the academic block. Taking permission from the visiting faculty / faculty taking the class itself is not sufficient. In case any student leaves after giving attendance without permission from the full time Faculty In-charge, he / she will be dealt with disciplinary action.

While asking questions to or answering questions of faculty members / Corporates (during Guest Lectures, Seminars, Workshops etc) students will stand-up and ask / answer questions. This is the culture at the Institute and students would be expected to abide by it.

Students staying in the hostel can leave the hostel for medical treatment any time with a roommate with prior permission from the warden. The 24 hours Van service can be availed for all emergencies.

Students are expected to address their seniors as 'Sir' and 'Ma'am' respectively.

Smoking, drinking liquor, consuming drugs and possessing these items while on campus or in the hostel will bring about termination of studentship / stringent penal action.

Stealing, copying during exams, proxy attendance, not following safety measures etc. will be seriously dealt with.

Causing any kind of damage to Institute property (computers, library books, benches, hostel furniture / anywhere in the campus) or anyone else's property inside or outside the campus is an act of indiscipline. Such acts will attract severe punishments. Fines on an individual or collective basis shall be imposed to make good the losses.

Stealing money or materials belonging to others, sexual misconduct, ragging, etc. will attract police action.

Students will also be assessed on their behavior in the campus, academic block (on campus, library, computer labs, exam hall etc.). That is, students will be assessed throughout during the course of their study at IIEBM for their desired change and development. IIEBM is not a college for teaching and testing only the information and / or knowledge. It evaluates the overall holistic development, change, integrity etc. of every student. Deviations will be dealt with appropriately.

Students are expected to be dressed smartly as per the laid down Dress Code of the Institute.

Wearing of I-Card issued by the Institute is mandatory at all times in the campus and also while away on all official work and visiting other institutions / organizations.

Students are required to carry at least one pair of their traditional dress. Traditional dress means those dresses, which one generally wears as per his / her region, religion, customs and traditions, on festive occasions. The traditional dress will be worn for Pooja and during the Induction ceremony. The best traditionally dressed male and female candidate will receive a cash award of Rs. 2,500/- each.

Using of mobile phone in Academic Block is strictly prohibited. In case a student uses his / her mobile in the class room, library, auditorium, computer lab a fine of Rs. 1000/- shall be imposed.

Each student-occupant in the hostel shall be provided with necessary furniture and other items like mattress, pillow, bedcover etc. All these items shall be the sole responsibility of the student and they will hand over the same in good condition at the time of vacating the hostel.

Writing graffiti on walls, doors, storage units, curtains etc shall not be accepted and students will have to bear the cost of having the same cleaned / walls painted.

All the students are expected to be in their rooms by 10 pm. Late night parties or loitering around at odd hours, both inside the Campus and outside the hostel is not allowed. Similarly boys and girls moving into each other’s hostel or private accommodation will attract rustication from the institute.

In this connection, it should be mentioned that students living in private accommodation adjacent to the campus should note that our culture and traditions do not permit boys and girls meeting at odd hours, even for the purpose of group / combined studies / preparation for group presentations / assignments.

‘Silence hours’ will be observed after 11 pm in the hostels. Students are required to study before 11 pm at night and after 5 am in the morning, which is sufficient to maintain an excellent academic record, as learning is a continuous process and last minute studying will result in poor academic performance.

Laptops should also not be used after 11 pm as proper sleeping helps to remain fresh, creative and active. Playing music or watching movies is not permitted during ‘Silence hours’.

staying with them in their rooms who might get disturbed on account of their wanting to keep awake till late hours of the night. Privacy of each roommate should be respected.

Students are expected to behave like gentlemen and ladies not only in the campus, but also throughout their stay with us, even while they are in their private quarters. We demand decent life style including maintenance and up-keep of living accommodation.

Students are not allowed to go and stay out of the hostel. If any student has to be away from his / her room after 10 pm. or wants to go out of station for any personal reason, his / her parents shall have to:Send an e-mail to the Director from their registered e-mail ID at least 48 hours in advance. OR

Send an SMS to the Director and Course in-charge from their registered Cell Phone Number at least 48 hours in advance.

Parents shall be required to mention where their ward shall be going with contact details of the concerned person. This practice is being followed as we are concerned about the safety and welfare of students. One Night-out is permitted per month.

Permission to avail ‘Night Out’ is a must and shall be granted subject to the above conditions being fulfilled. The Director, in turn, will verify the request and recommend the 'Night out Pass' to the Warden of the Hostel. One Night-out is permitted per month. Nomination of the local guardian, if any, should be made by parents through a letter addressed to the Director at the time of joining the Institute. No permission shall be granted over the phone.

Hostel rooms are expected to be kept clean by the occupants. Staff has been engaged for cleaning the toilets, corridors and common rooms ONLY.

Students are supposed to switch off lights and fans when they are not in the room and ensure that water taps are turned off. In case the lights and fans are not switched off a fine of Rs. 1000/- will be imposed.

Students should keep their belongings safely in their cupboards. Management will not be responsible for loss of any valuables, cash, laptops, mobiles etc. Students are advised not to carry any valuable ornaments.

Hostel re-shuffling will be done every semester / year. No objection to this will be accepted. Rooms and groups allotted have to be accepted.

Students are not permitted to Smoke / consume Alcohol in the hostel premises. During surprise checks, if anyone found possessing Cigarettes / Alcohol shall be fined Rs. 1000/-. IIEBM can also conduct search of rooms, cupboards, bags, boxes etc. as required and students cannot resist this on any ground. Frisking by same gender personnel also can be carried out.

Defaulters will be fined suitably.

It has been noticed that some students have had serious medical problems in the past, which they did not reveal at the time of admission. It is advisable that if anyone has any serious medical problems they should not take admission in our Institute because the Institute may not be able to attend to their ongoing medical problems and also no absence for such reasons shall be entertained at a later date. However, if anyone develops this kind of illness during the course, it should be brought to the notice of the Institute.

All students should arrange for vaccination against common diseases like Hepatitis, Chicken pox and Typhoid, prior to joining the college.

Dengue and Malaria are common problems in Maharashtra. Prevention is the only way to encounter these diseases; simple measures which need to be taken are:

a. Mosquito nets.

b. Mosquito repellant's and Mats.

Certain diseases like diarrhea do occur during the rainy season. Again prevention should be the aim. The Institute has a cafeteria which caters for the students. The hygiene aspects in these places are any time better than outside eating places. Hence, students are advised to eat their meals in the Institute cafeteria.

MEDICAL FITNESS

The Institute offers only O.P.D. Medical Facilities to the students. Student having medical problems may avail this facility.

Students in Medical distress are expected to take care of themselves supported by their roommates. Once brought to the notice of the Warden, the Institute will render all the assistance possible but the ambulance & hospitalization charges will have to be borne by the student / parents.

Accidents involving students driving two-wheelers without helmet have occurred in the past, which could have been avoided, had the students been wearing crash helmets. Therefore, wearing of crash helmets by students riding two-wheelers and pillion riders is compulsory. Students violating this rule will be fined with Rs. 1000/- in the first instance and more stringent punishment will be awarded on subsequent occurrences. The fine thus collected will go to “Students Welfare Fund”.

1. Library will remain open from 09.30 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. and reading Hall will remain open from 9.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. on all working days.

2. Students are required to collect their Library Card within 7 days from commencement of the course. Library cards are not transferable.

3. Students will be issued Books / Magazines only after producing Library Card and Institute Identity Card.

4. Student can draw maximum of three books at a time for a period ofone week, including one magazine for a period of 2 days.

5. Books may be reissued for only one time. Books shall not be kept reserved for any one.

6. In case of loss of library card, duplicate card would be issued against payment of stipulated charges.

7. Student shall be required to pay stipulated fine in case of delay in return of books and magazines.

8. Issue of books / Magazines shall be stopped if the dues are not cleared immediately.

9. In case of loss or damage of Books / Magazines, the student shall have to refund the cost of the item drawn, along with fine or the same shall be deducted from the Refundable Security Deposit.

10. Reference Books, Project Reports of earlier batches, news papers and current issues of magazines will not be issued for taking out of Library. They may be read by the students in the Reading Hall.

11. Tearing of pages from the Library Books will be viewed seriously. The student returning the book shall be held responsible for making good the damages / replacement of book. Please do not tear the library sheet pasted at the back of the book. The student in fault shall be required to pay stipulated fine.

12. Students are requested to scan the book for any damages at the time of issue. Any damages observed at the time of return shall be made good by the student.

13. Recommendations for any specific title / author on a given subject may be given by the faculty or students.

14. BOOK REQUISITION REGISTER is kept in library if one wishes to recommend the books.

15. Students with wrong dress code shall not be permitted in Library premises.

16. Bags, mobiles, eatables etc are not allowed in the Library.

17. All are requested to maintain silence & strict discipline in the Library & Reading Hall.

1. Computer Lab will remain open from 9.30 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. on working days.

2. Students should use their allotted user name account to access the PC and save their respective data in folders allotted to them and not on the desktop.

3. Playing games, chatting and visiting social networking sites is not

utmost care, so as not to cause any damage. Chairs should be put back at the proper place after the completion of work.

6. Students should take regular back up of their work in order to avoid any loss of data.

7. Silence will be maintained so as not to cause disturbance to other users.

8. Bags, laptops, mobile, eatables etc are not allowed in Computer Lab.

9. Any loss or damage caused by student in the Computer Lab will be recovered from the student.

The industry at times asks us for reference and opinion about behavior, conduct, integrity and suitability of students even after they have passed out, for specific jobs / placements. They expect us to field the candidates with right attitude and attributes. This is not only for campus placements but also generally throughout the career of the students when they change jobs from one company to another. Traditionally the Director of the institute was a reference point. We are also required to sign testimonials whenever a student wants to go for higher studies abroad. With passage of time, we have found it difficult to recollect the attributes of the individual students. Therefore, it has been decided that henceforth students will be graded for character and leadership qualities viz., Exemplary / Very Good / Good / Satisfactory / Unsatisfactory. Copy of the record will be retained in our archives for future reference. We hope that our students will behave in a mature manner exhibiting positive attributes and leadership qualities.

1. All students are required to maintain minimum attendance of 90% in each semester failing which they shall NOT be eligible for Internships and Final Placements.

2. Backlog Exams:

a. Students with more than 2 backlogs in their 1st Semester shall not be eligible for Summer Internship Program.

b. Students with backlogs in their 1st Year (1st and 2nd Semes te r ) shall not be eligible for Final Placements.

The above is being implemented as companies prefer students with no backlogs as getting leave to clear backlog exams on being placed is difficult.

3. Gradation of students:

a. Past and Current Academic Performance.

b. Overall Behavior, Discipline, Attitude and Approach.

c. Attendance for academics and other activities.

d. Performance in Personality Enrichment Program.

e. Feedback on Summer Internship Project.

4. Once a student shows his / her keenness to join a particular organization for the Internship or Final Placement and appears for the interview process and gets selected, he / she will have to join that respective organization failing which he / she shall not be considered for future placements activities.

5. Students who arranged their own Internships and do not submit necessary details to the Placement Cell shall not be included in the Placement Brochure.

6. Any student who has been formally warned twice or suspended once will not be eligible for Internships and Final Placement. His / her name shall not be included in placement Brochure.

7. Dress Code for interviews will be either college uniform or formals or as informed to students from time to time.

8. Students misbehaving / showing disrespect to the Corporates during Seminars, Guest Lectures, Panel Discussions, Corporate Events, Industrial Visits etc shall be given low priority for placement activities and at times even debarred from placement activities (depending on the degree of misbehavior / disrespect).

9. If the Institute receives negative feedback from companies in which students have done their Internships, Live Project, Field Surveys etc. they shall not be entertained for future placement activities.

10. Circulars with detailed instructions for Winter / Summer Internship, Project Report Guidelines, Resume / CV format etc shall be put on the notice board.

The students will be required to interact with the people from the Industry on different occasions like Workshops / Seminars / Corporate Events / Training Activities / Internships / Live Projects.

It should be noted that the students are ‘Brand Ambassadors’ of the Institute and play a very important role in building the image of the Institute in the corporate world. It is on the basis of the students overall behavior and performance during their interaction with corporates which leads to the formation of an opinion about the Institute.

Appreciation from corporates / companies about student’s good behavior / performance will enhance the image of the Institute, however on the other hand, negative reports will lead to the Institute’s image being tarnished.

Therefore, any complaint received from corporates / companies / guest faculties will attract severe disciplinary action against the students. One such action could be that the concerned student will be placed in the ‘Red List’.

Grant of term will be decided on the basis of the following:

Performance in Assignments, Internal and Final Examinations in each semester.

General behavior of the students within and outside the campus.

Ragging of any kind is strictly prohibited. Anyone indulging in ragging will be dealt with 'Zero Tolerance' and will be expelled as this has been prescribed as a minimum punishment by the Supreme Court of India. The Supreme Court has also categorically mentioned that harassing fresher students physically and mentally will be booked by the Police, expelled from the college and also denied future admission. If anyone tries to rag any student the same should be reported immediately to the Director. (Ref: Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act 1999).

All the indisciplinary cases will be placed in the "Red List" at the discretion of the Director.

Any negative report received by the Institute from the Company where the student is doing his / her "Internship or Project Studies" may result in the student being placed in the "Red List".

Students receiving advances from the office for co-curricular activities should furnish the accounts expeditiously failing which they may be placed in the "Red List".

Students not adhering to specified points of the Code of Conduct may be placed in the “Red List”.

Students having less than the prescribed attendance shall be placed in the “Red List”.

Red Listed students may be disqualified from appearing in the examinations. They shall not be provided assistance for Internships and Final Placements.

The institute will periodically send parents reports on their child’s performance. The report will include performance in academics, PEP activities, general behavior and attendance. This is done in order for parents to constantly motivate and encourage their child to work hard and strive for excellence.

We advise parents to try and visit their child once in every semester as well as come and meet the management / faculty members / Director to get a one-to-one feedback regarding their child.

At IIEBM, we have a laid down Code of Conduct which we expect every student to follow and abide by in letter and spirit.

All students who are keen to take admission in this Institute are advised to read the Code of Conduct carefully as non adherence to the same shall not be accepted and appropriately dealt with.

Decision of the Management will be final and binding on all the students. The Code of Conduct mentioned below is meant to regulate discipline in our campus as well as get students geared up to meet expectations of the Corporate world. The Administrative Officers as well as the Academic Faculties have been empowered to take suitable action / levy fines against students not adhering to the Code of Conduct of the Institute. The fines thus collected will go to the Student’s Welfare Fund.

1. Students must report to the Institute 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time at the gate in the morning.

2. Students should wear dress as per the laid down Dress Code of the Institute. Wearing slippers is not permitted in the Academic Block. Students not adhering to the Dress Code shall not be permitted to attend lectures and shall be marked absent for that day (Refer to ‘Dress Code’ in Important Instructions & Information section of Prospectus).

3. Students must be dressed decently post classes while in the campus premises near the main academic block. There are times when corporates visit the campus for evening sessions / come for placement drives and are on campus till late.

4. Students should wear I-Card issued by the Institute round the neck at all times during their presence in the Institute / while away on all official work and visiting other organizations.

5. Students are required to carry the Institute bag provided to them while on campus / on outdoor visits. Changing the color of the Institute logo on the bag is not acceptable.

6. Male students are required to shave daily and have regular haircuts. Long and trendy hairstyles, sideburns, gelling & streaking of hair etc. is not permitted.

7. Lady students are required to either tie their hair with a clip or plate them. No flicks are allowed to be maintained.

8. Smoking, drinking liquor, consuming drugs or being found under the influence of the same or possessing these items while on campus or in the hostel will bring about termination of studentship / stringent penal action.

9. Students should keep themselves abreast of day to day activities of the Institute and abide by all communications put up on the notice board / e-mail communication / website.

10.While asking questions to or answering questions of faculty members / Corporates (during Guest Lectures, Seminars, Workshops etc) students will stand-up and ask / answer questions. This is the culture at the Institute and students would be expected to abide by it. Disrespect or discourtesy to guests, faculty and office staff will be considered as an act of indiscipline.

14.Getting into physical fights with people on or off-campus shall not be accepted. Strict disciplinary action shall be taken against defaulters, parents of the students shall be asked to come to meet the Management.

1. Students must be seated in the classrooms five minutes before the scheduled time.

2. No student will be allowed to enter the class / knock the door or leave the class once the faculty is in the class room.

3. No student will be seen loitering around when the scheduled class is on.

4. All mobiles and communication devices, if any, will be switched off in the Academic Block. Students found using their mobile / communication devices in the class room, library, auditorium, computer lab shall be levied a fine of Rs. 1000/- (Refer to ‘Use of Mobile Phones’ in Important Instructions & Information section of Prospectus).

5. Students are not permitted to use their Laptops and read newspapers / magazines when the faculty is in the class / class is in progress, unless permission has been granted by faculty in charge.

6. In the event of cancellation of any academic session, students are required to do self-study in Library / Computer Lab, unless such sessions are substituted by any other session / activity.

7. Eating (sweets, chewing gum, snacks etc) in the Academic Block and while lectures / seminars etc, are in progress is not permitted.

1. Students must be present in all the academic sessions scheduled for the day, failing which such students shall be marked absent for the day.

2. Absence from tests / examinations / tutorials / non-submission of assignments / not being prepared for presentations will make student ineligible for internal assessment. No excuses for the same will be entertained.

3. Students must not request the faculty for cancellation of lectures. Peeping into the classrooms, signaling by gestures etc. while the lecture is in progress by the students are acts of misconduct.

4. Students will always carry business magazine, previous day’s newspaper (Economic Times) and Dictionary.

5. Parents of any student absenting him / her from scheduled classes for more than 3 consecutive days shall be required to come and meet the Management of the Institute failing which the candidate may not be permitted to appear for the exams.

8. In case a student has a history of any medical disorder /ailments, the same must be brought to the notice of Management in writing at the time of selection. No absence for such reasons shall be entertained at a later date. Students with major / severe medical problems are advised not to enroll for the Management program at IIEBM.

9. There is no concept of half-day. Students are advised not to ask for the same.

10. There is also no concept of vacations during festivals, in between semesters or long preparation leave. Students and parents are advised not to approach the management for the same.

11. Surprise attendance shall be taken before or after lectures. Any student found absent shall be marked absent for the day.

1. Students are required to keep the hostel premises hygienic and well laid out as expected of future managers and global citizens.

2. There will be surprise visits by the Management to check cleanliness, maintenance and upkeep of hostel rooms / overall hostel premises.

3. Students are not permitted to use electric appliances such as electric iron, immersion rod, hot plate or any other such equipment. During surprise checks, if anyone found possessing such equipment shall be fined Rs. 1000/- along with confiscation of the equipment till completion of course.

4. Holding of midnight parties, loud music and consumption of alcohol / drugs and smoking in the hostel premises is strictly prohibited. Students found indulging in the above shall be fined heavily.

5. All students will report back in the hostel by 10 pm. Attendance may be taken by the Warden at a short notice and defaulters shall be suitably dealt with.

6. Nomination of local guardian if any must be made by the parents through a letter addressed to the Director at the time of admission.

7. Males are not allowed in the Ladies Hostel premises and vice – versa.

8. Students are required to comply with the procedural requirements relating to entry in Security Register / Gate Pass, as a part of discipline and in the interest of their own safety.

9. Any problem / queries may be reported to the Warden / Hostel Administrator.

10. If any student vacates the Hostel Accommodation before the expiry of academic year, the Institute shall forfeit the Hostel Charges. However, Security Deposit shall be refunded after settlement of any outstanding dues.

11. Students found not reporting to the hostel at night and staying out without prior permission from the Management shall be required to ask their parents to come and meet the Management.

12. Students are not allowed to go and stay out of the hostel. If any student has to be away from his / her room after 10 pm. or wants to go out of station for any personal reason, his / her parents shall have to:

Causing any kind of damage to Hostel property (hostel rooms, TV Room, wash rooms, common areas hostel furniture / anywhere in the hostel) or anyone else’s property inside or outside the hostel is an act of indiscipline. Such acts will attract severe punishments. Fines on an individual or collective basis shall be imposed to make good the losses.

19. Students violating any of the above instructions / rules and laid down Code of Conduct shall be fined and may even be asked to vacate the Hostel Accommodation without any refunds.

1. There are fixed timings for meals which shall be strictly adhered to.

2. Carrying canteen / mess crockery / cutlery to the hostel rooms is not permitted.

3. Coming to the canteen / mess under the influence of alcohol / smoking in the canteen / mess premises is strictly prohibited.

4. Students are required to come well dressed for evening meals (wearing nightclothes / indecent clothes is not permitted).

5. Wasting food is not acceptable as there are many underprivileged people who do not get a full meal in a day. Students are advised to serve themselves only as much as they can eat and take additional helpings if required.

6. Students who are day scholars shall be required to have their lunch in the canteen. Carrying tiffins is not permitted.

7. We aim to groom our students to be a fit for the corporate world and have the right dining etiquettes.

8. Students found violating the canteen / mess rules shall be suitably penalized.

Misbehavior, habitual late coming, disobedience, absenteeism, consumption of drugs, alcohol in the Institute / Hostel premises, malpractices, cheating in the exam, instigating other students against the Institute/Management and such other acts unbecoming of a management student shall attract being placed on Director's RED LIST and in cases of severe levels of disobedience, may result in the Registration of the Candidate being cancelled.

4. Tuition fee and other dues shall be paid by due date. Defaulters shall be governed by the Rules relating to fee payment schedule. No extension for remittance of fee shall be granted. Students and parents are requested not to make requests for the same to the management as the same shall not be possible.

5. Students who do not pay their tuition fee shall not be issued their Admit Card. Requests from students and parents in this regard shall not be accepted as the dates of fee submission are made known to all at the time of admission.

9. The Director is empowered to impose fines for misconduct on the part of any student as and when warranted and justified. The fines so collected will be utilized for student’s welfare activities.

10. Parents of students who have been major defaulters on discipline front shall be called to the Institute.

11. Disputes, if any, shall be resolved within the jurisdiction of Pune only*.

12. Rules of the Institute can and will be changed at appropriate times keeping in view the best interest of students and the Institute.

All students are required to remit their Fee (Tuition, Hostel and Canteen) as per the schedule mentioned in the Fee Structure. Students who do not remit the same in time shall be required to pay a penalty at the rate of 1% on the outstanding fee amount.

Parents and students are requested not to ask for extension in Fee payment to the Management as the same shall not be possible.

There may be occasions that due to misinterpretation of Rules or any other cause a dispute / grievance may arise. Once a student is taken on the Institute’s record, he will be deemed to have given undertaking to follow the procedure appended below:-

a) The nature of the dispute / grievance will be conveyed to the Director in writing on a given format who shall give his decision.

b) If the complainant is not satisfied, he / she may submit the matter before the President, who shall adjudicate on the issue.

c) If it still remains unresolved, the complaint along with Director / Presidents decision and their comments will be put up to Advisory Council, whose decision will be final and binding.

d) Thereafter, the student / parents, if still dissatisfied may submit the matter for arbitration for which both the parties shall nominate a common arbitrator at the time of admission.

e) Notwithstanding the above, the student and parent agree to, that the dispute, if any, shall be resolved within the jurisdiction of Pune only.

The institute will periodically send reports to parents on their child’s performance which will include performance in academics, PEP activities, general behavior and attendance. We advise parents to try and visit their child once in every semester as well as come and meet the management / faculty members / Director to get a one-to-one feedback regarding their child.

Candidate should be a graduate / post graduate in any discipline from Universities and Institutions recognized by AICTE / UGC / AIU with minimum 50% aggregate.

COMPETITIVE EXAM SCORE ACCEPTED

PGDM (AICTE): Candidates are required to have appeared in any of the following competitive exams, namely CAT / MAT / CMAT / XAT / ATMA / GMAT or any competitive exam / test that shall be acceptable as per AICTE guidelines.

Candidates with minimum 3 years of work experience can also apply. They would be required to submit an experience certificate signed by the Head – HR of the company in which they have worked. Competitive exam scores in these cases will not be required.

Written expression is equally important as spoken English for students to succeed in the Corporate World as Business Communication forms an essential part of managerial functions. We therefore expect students applying to our institute to be proficient enough as far as written English is concerned. All students are required to write an essay of minimum 750 words on the topic which shall be given at the time of the selection process. Topics will be on general awareness and current issues.

There shall be one / two rounds of Group Discussions where we expect all students to contribute in a positive manner in order for the panel to be able to assess / gauge the candidate on different aspects like spontaneity, thought process, verbal communication, power of expression etc.

There will be one final round of Personal Interview where we would assess the student's subject / domain knowledge, their reading habits, general knowledge, confidence, logical thinking, ability to handle pressure / stress etc.

All students would be required to attach the below mentioned documents duly attested along with the Application Form along with a passport size photograph.

GD / PI for the PGDM course shall be conducted in all metro and major cities for which the Venue, Date and Time shall be uploaded on our website www.iiebm.com. Institute reserves the right to cancel/change any Test Centre if adequate number of candidates are not available. The change if any shall be intimated to all students who have registered with us by email/SMS. Also Newspaper advertisements shall be released in select cities to notify the date, time and venue for GD / PI.

On completion of the Selection Process in different cities, a Merit List shall be declared on the website of the institute. Students who have been Selected / Wait Listed shall also be notified the status of their result by the Admission Officer via an official e-mail and a telephone call.

Selection / Wait List Letters shall be dispatched once the overall Merit List has been finalized; the same would contain information pertaining to remittance of confirmation fee and other important instructions.

10% of the seats are allotted to candidates who qualify the eligibility criteria at the discretion of the President and Advisory Council with 1.5 times the prescribed fee. Allotment of these seats will be made only after declaration of the results. Those seeking management quota seats should mention the same in the application form and only the candidate or the parents are permitted to communicate with the management. Third party interference shall disqualify the candidate.

We have not appointed any agent and we will not accept any recommendations. Therefore, any one paying money to any agent who may claim and act as if they are very close to the management, will be doing so at their risk. Such people do exist, and they even take advances giving false guaranty for admission. In case the student is selected on his/her merit they will claim that they arranged the admission. In case the candidate is not selected they may or may not return the money. In most of the cases they simply vanish. We have reports that many students have been cheated in the past. Therefore, we caution everyone not to depend on such operators, notwithstanding their position, status or affiliations.

Students should submit the certified mark sheets of the qualifying degree examination latest by 1st October of the current academic year, failing which the admission may be cancelled automatically. In case any University has not declared the result until then, the Principal of the previous college should personally write to the Director of the Institute explaining the correct situation and the Director will take appropriate action. In case the student fails in the qualifying degree examination, his/her admission will be

processed within 21 working days from the date of receipt of

application at IIEBM, Pune.

It is made clear that such application for cancellation will be

considered if and only if the admission is confirmed by paying the

prescribed tuition fee and other fees charges in full and by

6. Details of collateral security along with valuation certificate of Government approved valuer (if any).
