This cartridge was used in two Army weapons the Type 1 Tank and Type 1 Anti-tank guns. The case was usually made from brass however steel may be found. The case had the weapon designation stenciled on it in purple dye. The propellant load was 398 gms of tubular double base with the following composition: Ingredient Percentage Nitrocellulose 60 Nitroglycerine 34.5 Ethyl Centralite 3.0 Diphenylamine formamide 2.5 This cartridge was used in two Army weapons, the Type 1 tank gun and the Type 1 Anti-tank gun. The propellant load was contained in a silk bag tied at the top and having an igniter pad attached tothe bottom. The bag is marked with the propellant loading information.
