    The Port of Shanghai, located in the vicinity ofShanghai, comprises a deep-sea port and a river port.

    In 2010, Shanghai port overtook Singapore port to become the world's busiest container port.Shanghai's port handled 29.05 millionTEUs, whereas Singapore port was a half million TEU's behind.

    The Port of Singapore refers to the collective facilities andterminalsthat conduct maritime tradehandling functions inSingapore'sharboursand which handle Singapore'sshipping. Currently theworld's busiest portin terms oftotal shipping tonnage, it also tranships a fifth[1]of the world'sshippingcontainersas theworld's busiest container port, half of the world's annual supply ofcrude oil, and is the

    world's busiest transshipment port. It was also the busiest port in terms oftotal cargo tonnage handleduntil 2005, when it was surpassed by thePort of Shanghai. Thousands of ships drop anchor in theharbour, connecting the port to over 600 other ports in 123 countries and spread over six continents.

    The Port of Singapore is not a mere economic boon, but an economic necessity because Singapore islacking inlandandnatural resources. The Port is critical for importing natural resources, and then laterre-exporting them after they have been refined and shaped in some manner, for examplewaferfabricationoroil refiningto generate revenue. It islocated in the southern region of thePearl River Deltain China's Guangdong province. It is theeconomic hinterland for Hong Kong trade with the Mainland and also one of the most important port interms of China's international trade.

    The port is home to 39 shipping companies who have launched 131 international container routes.There are 560 ships on call at Shenzhen port on a monthly basis and also 21 feeder routes to other portsin thePearl River Deltaregion.

    Busan (Officially Busan Metropolitan City), formerly spelled Pusan[3]

    (Korean pronunciation:[pusan]) isSouth Korea's second largest metropolis afterSeoul, with a population of around 3.6 million.

    Metropolitan area (includes adjacent cities of Gimhae and Yangsan) population is 4,399,515 as of2010.[4]It is the largestportcityin South Korea and the world's fifth busiest seaports by cargotonnage.

    [5]The city is located on the southeasternmost tip of the Korean peninsula. The most densely

    built up areas of the city are situated in a number of narrow valleys between theNakdong RiverandSuyeong River, with mountains separating some of the districts. Administratively, it is designated as aMetropolitan City. The Busan metropolitan area is divided into 15 major administrative districts and asingle county.

    Busan was the host city of the2002 Asian GamesandAPEC 2005 Korea. It was also one of the hostcities for the2002 FIFA World Cup, and is a center for international conventions in Korea. On

    November 14, 2005, the city officially announced its bid to host the2020 Summer OlympicsGames.[6]

    After Pyeongchang's successful bid for the 2018 Winter Olympics, the city is considering its bid to hostthe 2024 or 2028 Summer Olympics.[7]

    Busan is home to the world's largestdepartment store, theShinsegaeCentum City[8]

    and is pursuing alarge number of multi-skyscraperprojects, including Solomon Tower (108 floor, 418m), HaeundaeResort Tower (108 floor, 478m), the 110-floor, 510m-supertallLotte Super Tower, which is slated to

    become the world'sfifth tallest buildingin 2015, afterBurj Khalifa,Shanghai Tower,Abraj Al BaitTowers, andOne World Trade Center.

    6. Port of Ningbo, China

    Port of Ningbo(SSE:601018) is one of the most important and busiest ports in mainlandChina.[1]

    It islocated on the rich coastal province ofZhejiang.

    shipping route and the important waterway of theYangtze River. The port comprises several portswhich are Beilun (seaport), Zhenhai (estuary port) and old Ningbo harbor (inland river port), Daxie andChuanshan. It is one of a growing number of ports in China with a cargo throughput volume exceeding100 million tons annually.[2]

    Ningbo Port is involved in economic trade with cargo shipment, raw materials and manufactured goodsfrom as far as North and South America and Oceania. It has economic trade with over 560 ports frommore than 90 countries and regions in the world.

    The Port of Ningbo has recently been merged with the neighbouring Port ofZhoushanto form acombined cargo-handling centre. The combined Ningbo-Zhoushan Port had a traffic of 627,000,000tons of cargo in 2010, making it the second-largest port in the world (afterShanghai) in terms of cargovolume.

    The Port of Xiamen is an important deep water port located in the mouth of theJiulongjiang Riveronthe southern coastline ofFujianprovince in thePeople's Republic of China (PRC). It is one of the trunkline ports in the Asia-Pacific region. It is ranked the 8th largest container port in the PRC, and ranks30th among the world's top 100. It is the 4th port in the PRC with the capacity to handle the sixth-generation large container vessels. In 2003, Xiamen handled 34.04 million tons of cargo, including2.33 millionTEUsof containers.

    The port comprises six areas: Heping, Dongdu, Haitian, Shihushan, Gaoqi and Liuwudian in Tongan.[2]

    The world's top 20 shipping companies have all established major shipping routes and operations inXiamen. A total of 68 shipping routes serve over 50 countries to almost all the major ports in theworld, yielding an average 469 ship calls at the port each month.
