Lattu (Spinning Top)How Many Players :1+ Players Game.This is a very popular andsimple game which can be played by children asyoung as 5. The game involves spinning a lattu- a solid turnip shaped wooden toy with a

grooved lower half with two nails dug at the topand the bottom.

How- To Play :

A cotton string is wrapped around the lower halfof the lattu. The lattu is then thrown on theground with a jerk and the string is pulled outas the lattu moves round. The children take

turns at spinning the top, and the one who spinsit the longest, is the winner.

SatoliyaThis game has to be played outdoors & dividing the Children into

two teams

.Pile up seven stones with the largest at the bottom and the

smallest on top. one person from a team hit the pile with the ball

from a distance of approximately four meters.The other members of

team have to scatter on the field. Each player gets three turns to

hit the pitthu and break it. As soon as the player hits and breaks

the pitthu, the actual game begins. This is when one team tries to

rebuild the pitthu and 2nd team stops them from doing so, by

hitting them with the ball.

The player gets out if the ball touches him/her, but if he/she

succeeds in making the pitthu first, then that team gets a point. In

this way the game continues till all the children have got their turns

to hit the pitthu. The team that makes more pitthus is the winner.

KabbadiIn Kabaddi, two teams compete with each otherfor higher scores, by touching or capturing theplayers of the opponent team. Each teamconsists of 12 players, of which seven are oncourt at a time, and five in reserve. The twoteams fight for higher scores, alternatingdefence and offense. The court is as large asthat for a dodge ball game. The game consistsof two 20 minute halves, with a break of fiveminutes for change of sides.

The kabaddi playing area is 12.50m x 10m,divided by a line into two halves. The sidewinning the toss sends a 'raider', who enters theopponents' court chanting, 'kabaddi-kabaddi'.The raider's aim is to touch any or all players onthe opposing side, and return to his court in onebreath. The person, whom the raider touches,

will then be out. The aim of the opposing team,will be to hold the raider, and stop him fromreturning to his own court, until he takesanother breath. If the raider cannot return to hiscourt in the same breath while chanting'kabaddi', he will be declared out. Each team

alternates in sending a player into theopponents' court. If a player goes out of theboundary line during the course of the play, or if

any part of his body touches the ground outsidethe boundary, he will be out, except during astruggle
