I knew Amber as a student for two years. During her freshman and sophomore years, Amber was a very good student. She attended class on a regular basis, submitted assignments in a timely manner, and was an effective group participant. Her work continually met and often exceeded course requirements. Amber’s assignments, projects, and conversations in class demonstrated her abilities to connect theoretical perspectives with classroom practice. At SLCC Amber crafted a firm pedagogical foundation, and then she transferred to Weber State University to increase her practical skills. In EDU 1010, Orientation to Education, Amber began her journey into the magical world of teaching and learning. She gained practical experiences in a K-12 classroom and learned how to analyze and resolve issues that arose. She was an enthusiastic learner and received high commendations from her field placement teacher. In EDU 2011, Teaching in the Inclusive Classroom, Amber continued to hone her teaching skills by diving into differentiated instruction and the practice of including all learners in a general education setting. Even at this early stage in Amber’s academic life, she demonstrated understanding and application principles of how to meet individual learner needs. I am anxious to follow Amber’s teaching career as she moves from the university setting into her own classroom. Amber’s enthusiasm will continue as she embarks on what will be an excellent teaching career. Her future students will profit from her knowledge, skills, expertise, and kind attention to their learning needs. I highly recommend Amber as a member of your school’s faculty.
