For you to complete 80pts of work, you will need to complete a certain number of activity points from each section . Remember that each activity will have a points’ value, so you must make sure that the activities you do, add up to 80pts! Nb: This must be your best work! Your work will be assessed on your ability to select, summarise and analyse information, by experimenting with known/new linguistic patterns and incorporating hiragana to convey ideas and meaning. Your work will also explore the contributions of anime to the global community and how it is reflected in language. Marks will be awarded based on how well you demonstrate these outcomes. KNOWLEDGE (Complete 10pts of activities) Create a find-a-word that contains the names of twenty Famous Japanese Anime & Manga that have been popular around the world. 10pts Imagine you are contestant on the Rich List . You are required to name ten Studio Ghibli movies with the release dates of each movie and who produced them. 10pts Compose a song that could teach young children the body parts and colours in Japanese, using a well- known Top 40 song. The lyrics must be age appropriate. 10pts Comprehension & Application (Complete 30pts of activities) Design the fifteen questions for an episode of Who Wants to Be A Millionaire . The questions should be based on our Anime unit of work, have four possible answers, and be a mix of Japanese and English questions. You may also include to have visual images to base questions around. You must present the questions and answers using the provided PowerPoint game show skeleton. Upload your game to the Year Nine Anime Wiki. 15pts Create a two minute Photostory showcasing some of Tezuka Osamu or Hayao Miyazaki’s best-known anime characters. You need to identify each character’s name, the year when it was released and give a brief description about that character you have showcased in English and Japanese. Each character should be represented by a number of images. Be sure to include a bibliography as closing credits! Don’t forget to embed appropriate background music. Upload your Photostory to the Year Nine Anime Wiki. 15pts Imagine you are a reporter for the magazine TV Week and are to review an anime show or manga comic. You will need to watch/read a Japanese anime or manga. In your review, you need to write the anime/manga’s name in hiragana, list all the kyarakutaa, write an arasuji outline of who created the story and what happens in the plot, & conclude with an osusume giving your recommendation about the viewed anime/manga. 15pts SYTHESIS – Using Language (Complete the Konnichi Wa Nihon task + an extra 20pt activity) The Missing Person’s Unit need your assistance. On A3 sized paper, construct a missing person poster for an anime character, of your choice, that has mysteriously disappeared. In Japanese, you will need to include information that describes the character, an image of what it looks like and a set of details for people to contact if they see this character. Use as much hiragana and kanji as possible. 20pts Imagine you are the host of Konnichi Wa Nihon , a popular afternoon drive-time radio show. In pairs, script and produce a radio interview with your favourite anime character. In the interview, you can draw upon a wide variety of language structures learnt up until our current unit of work. Record the interview using an MP3/WMA format on a computer. Upload your radio interview to the Konnichi wa Nihon page on the Year Nine Anime Wiki. 20pts Show off your artistic flair and style by creating a step by step Instruction Guide, Anime no Kakikata , on how to draw your favourite anime character. You will need to include appropriate supporting images for each step, along with a simple instruction of what to draw, in Japanese . Use as much hiragana and kanji as possible. 20pts
