Alumni Notes Francis Wobber ’55 has been retired since 2003. Prior to his retirement, Francis had conducted geological research (since 1963), and now has had his decade-long research of the deep biosphere included in the book Deep Life: e hunt for the Hidden Biology of Earth, Mars, & Beyond, written by Tullis Onstott, and published by Princeton Press. Frank Dinger ’57 has stepped down from his executive position in the William H. Sadlier Inc. company to become a Special Advisor to the Company. He will also play an active role as Chairman on the Board of Directors. Frank has been with the company for over 50 years. William Dinger ’59 has stepped down from his executive position in the William H. Sadlier Inc. company to become a Special Advisor to the Company. He will also play an active role as President Emeritus on the Board of Directors. William has been with the company for over 50 years. Msgr. James McDonald ’59 celebrated his 50th anniversary of ordination to the priest- hood on May 27, 2017. and their contributions to the Falmouth, MA community. For 38 years they served as co-directors of the Falmouth Road Race before co-founding the Flag Day 5K in 2011, an event that has raised more than $40,000 on behalf of the education foundation.

Frank Liantonio ’66 was honored at this year’s 2017 Stars for Students Scholarship Gala from the Tomorrow’s Hope Founda-tion for his support of Catholic education.

John T. Repke, M.D. ’70, after Chairing the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Penn State University College of Medicine for the past 15 years, stepped down from this po-sition on June 30, 2017. “I shall wind down my clinical practice over the next 12 months and expect to be fully retired by June 30, 2018, which will give me two years to rest up for our 50th reunion in 2020!” John and his wife Jaque (who were married by Fr. Philip’53 in 1980) reside in Hershey, PA.

William Murphy ’71 retired from theSuffolk Police Department on July 18,2017 after serving more than 42 years inthe department. He retired as an inspector and commanding officer of the 6thprecinct in Selden, NY.

David Maloof ‘76, taking time off from his law practice, has published a 222 page book on Christian history entitled Christianity Matters: How Over Two Millennia the Meek and the Merciful Revolutionized Civilization - and Why It Needs to Happen Again. Dave is also speaking at schools and parishes on the subject of his book, which was recently in the top 1% of sales on Amazon.

John C. Doherty ’79 has been namedManaging Partner of Tully Rinckey PLLC. In his new role, he will oversee the daily opera-tions of the firm’s New York City team and the expansion of the firm’s new office, along with providing exceptional legal representa-tion for all clients. He brings over 2 decades of legal expertise and a wealth of knowledge and acumen in advising businesses of all stages to Tully Rinckey PLLC.

Rev. Guy W. Selvester ’82 was promoted by the Bishop of Metuchen, Most Rev. James Checchio, on June 12, 2017 from Admin-istrator to Pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Washington, NJ.

Chris Concannon ’85 was honored at this year’s 2017 Stars for Students Scholarship Gala from the Tomorrow’s Hope Founda-tion for his support of Catholic education.

Michael Breslin ’97 founded an executive recruitment firm called Landing Point Search Group that will be celebrating its two-year anniversary in April 2017. The company is up to ten employees, and has a focus on Financial Services. He currently resides in Manhattan, NY.

Kevin Folan ’99 will be the next headof school at Hilltop Country Day Schoolin Sparta, Maine, the Board of Trusteesannounced. He is currently the assistant head of school and executive director of enrollment at Hyde School in Maine. In his current role he oversees the admissions teams on both Hyde boarding campuses (Maine and Connecticut) and manages the independent school’s financial aid budget, brand and external relationships.

Brian Meberg ’99 was admitted as a partner at Deloitte & Touche LLP in the firm’s audit practice.

Paul D’Elia ’03 has joined HPM Partners LLC as of August 1st as a Principal. He is a Client Advisor in their NY office, providing comprehensive financial planning services to corporate executives and individuals through their Executive Financial Counselinginitiative.

Dan Becak ’05, a current third year student at Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine, was part of a four member team who won first place in an international SIMCHAL-LENGE competition in Paris, France in June.

Jonathan Karl ’05 joined the law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP. He specializes in Real Estate and Finance matters.

Richard Clark ’87 is the music direc-tor and organist at St. Cecilia Parish in Boston, MA. He is also the organist and Cantor for St Mary’s Chapel, Boston College, as well as a published composer. Richard has four children.

Fr. Christopher Costigan ’98 was honored as the Irish Man of the Year by the Ancient Order of the Hibernians, Lynbrook Chapter, on Saturday, Febru-ary 25th. Bryan Piligra ’11 has been named Deputy Communications Director for Congressman Chris Collins (NY-27).

Joseph Bucaria ’12 graduated from the University of Dayton on June 17, 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Biochemistry. He is currently em-ployed as a production management engineer with Cargill Inc., Global Edible Oil Solutions Division in Sidney, Ohio.

Terence Connelly ’12, shown below right, has been drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks Minor League team following his collegiate career with the Univer-sity of North Carolina Seahawks. Connelly, originally from Garden City, played baseball at Chaminade and served as the team’s captain during his senior year.

John Gallego ’12 will be attending Fordham University Law School in Manhattan, NY this fall.

Timothy Duffy ’13, an Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps cadet in Providence, RI, re-ceived the George C. Marshall Award during an awards ceremony at the U.S. Army Com-bined Arms Center, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. This award is the highest award that an ROTC cadet can receive. It is presented annually to the most outstanding senior cadets in military science studies and leadership values in each battalion at host universities or colleges.

Matthew Ambrosio ’16 was placed on the Dean’s list at Clemson University at the completion of his first academic year.

Peter C. Charalambous ’16, left, was awarded a scholar-ship from the The PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation on June17, 2017, which honors undergraduates of Hellenic de-
