Admission to a Shriners Burn Hospital is essentially the same as to a Shriners Hospital for Children. Here, however, it must be stressed that timing may be of utmost importance. The fi nal out-come of a burn case may be greatly dependent upon the type of treatment and the speed with which it can be started. Therefore in emergency, the Chief Surgeon has the authority to admit the patient, having the application completed at a later date. If then you know of an emergency burn case, immediately call the Shine Ambassador in the area. Let’s not miss a chance to put out a helping hand. Be a true Shriner!

We are hoping to ll up the Imperial Room with candidates and Shriners and have a wonderful experience that will be remembered by all for many years in the future. Membership is NOT just the re-sponsibility of the Membership Committee, membership is the duty and responsibility of all Shriners. One can always ask a Mason to become a Shriner. Another way to get a new Shriner is to have a man become a Mason then a Shriner. Either way, we grow stronger with each new member.
ere is another avenue to making a Mason a Shriner that is not used very o en. Since there are Masons in our com-munities that cannot attend a Saturday at the Shrine Center for a Ceremonial, the Divan can hold a "Cold Sands" in your hometown or any other place and date of your choosing to make new Shriners. Please let the Divan know if you are interested in having a "Cold Sands" and we can get it scheduled. We would like a minimum of 2 new candidates for a "Cold Sands".
Hi Nobles! We are halfway through 2017 already. Summer is here and the parade sea-son has begun with 2 parades completed - the Memorial Day parade in Ft. Wayne and the Kosciusko County Shrine parade in Warsaw. Both of them were excellent parades with many Shriners participating! ank YOU Nobles for your participation! We still have 4 Shrine parades yet this year. Hopefully the weather will cooperate with us for those parades just like it did for the rst 2. e Divan would really appreciate a large participation by Nobles for all the remain-ing Parades and events this year. Below is a partial listing of events for the remainder of the year;1 - Lawton Park Car Show - Mizpah Car Club 7/15/2017 8am - 2pm2 - Orland Parade 7/29/2017 Line up 10am / Parade 11am3 - Wabash Parade 8/5/2017 Line up 4pm / Parade 5pm

Greetings Nobles, You can tell Summer’s here, it is Parade season. We had a good turnout of Nobles, Clubs and Units for the Memorial Day Parade in Fort Wayne. Also, a good attendance in Warsaw. We hope all had a wonderful time listening to the sounds of the New Millennium Jazz Band. ey were Great. We would also like to thank those who made purchases at the silent auction. e pressure has been li ed, anks to you!! We now start the second half of year. ere is no Stated Meeting in July. e OFFICE will be closed the week of July 10 – 15 for Imperial session. MILDRED’S will be open regular hours that week. Our next Stated Meeting will be August 2nd. With dinner starting at 6:15 pm. I need to make an impassioned plea, I need to know who to date still have not received their GOLD MEMBERSHIP CARD? I would also like to know if anyone still has not received their 2017 dues sticker. Should either case pertain to you, PLEASE call or come into the Shrine offi ce and let us know. 260-426-4543. Speak to anyone in the offi ce. ey will be happy to assist you. We have the stickers available at the Shrine. Also, as a side note. Kosciusko County Fair Look for Bob Evers at the Masonic / Shriner display. July 10 – 15. Set up a display for your event????? We will help you get started with your display for Shriners. Contact Doug Brouwer or Bob Evers.
Parades!! We are hoping to get Mizpah’s hospital transportation vans in upcoming parades. Even if you are not a van driver, you surely are requested to ride in the parade with us!! As Illustrious Hal says, having the vans in the parade shows we are very serious about taking our Shrine Kids to the Shrine Hospitals. It is O.K. for a female to ride in the Shrine Vans to and from a Shrine Parade, but they cannot ride in a Shrine Van in a Shrine Parade. Only Shriners are allowed to ride in a Shrine Van during a Shrine Parade.
Shrine Transportation Bene t As you are receiving this Allah Bi, a bene t sponsored by sponsored by Amish Community and Adams Co. Shrine Calliopers is being held.

First Parade of 2017 is past and our horses did well as Color Guard for all the Vets and many others on Memorial Day. What a beautiful day is was, and such a beautiful crowd of appreciative spectators. It was a real pleasure to see so many stand for the colors and waving their own little ags as we pass, so many older Vets with a salute and such smiles. All gave us a real meaning of our great country. e sidewalks were full and one of the best parades we've had in a long time. e Charity Horse Show of June 24 and 25 is past, thanks to all, the grounds looked great, as of this writing we are all hoping for a let up of all the rain. e Sickafoose drains have been working overtime to keep the arena in good shape for a great show. Chairmans John and Bob has all the organizing ready for lots of exhibitors to preform for us and we are hoping for good weather for them. Hope many of you can attend to enjoy. Pres. Ed and Cook Bill wishes to invite all to attend meeting and not miss out on some good meals. July maybe Trent Smith Bluegills (OOOSO GOOD) and AUG. MARGARETS SPECIAL and of course enjoy all the good friendship and horseplay. We havn't got much info on GLSA in Spring eld except Ansar has barns and arena arranged, but questions on hotel and banquet exist. Seems like Mizpah H.P. is the only unit trying to keep the con-vention organize and attended, we hope this corrects soon. Have a good 4th and enjoy the Fire Works. Happy Trails ~~ Ray Giant ~~
Unfortunately my job has been in the way of being at many events, but in typical form, Yoshi never has been a board-driven club. Thank you to all the members that have continually stepped up and taken care of events. Mike, Dave and the rest of the leadership were very quick to handle all the Mizpah Fishing Derby logistics, and it was again a great success for us all. I am thankful to all that attended, helped out, and of course to the fi sh who took the bait for the kids! As I was preparing the Allah-Bi we received extremely sad news with the passing of our Santa, friend, brother and Yoshi member Bill Kaiser. It’s hard for me to put into words what his impact has been in my life, as well as many others. For most, he was the fi rst one we met in the bar at our ceremonial downtown (or even the new building), and of course he was at every event, serving his brothers’ in some capacity. What many didn’t know was his impact Mizpah-wide. He drove patients, he was a part of many clubs and units, and certainly had the heart of every good mason (even served as Leo Lodge 224’s secretary). Bill serves as a reminder to us all that brotherhood is what we are all about, even if you are not a part of that club or unit. We all serve each other... in brotherhood, works and support of service. On to happier news!!! The Orland Parade is July 29th, and we will once again make an attempt to parade the giant fl ag. It takes several people (about 20) to pull it off , so consider making this one parade your annual pasttime. After the parade we are talking about a party at the lake... De-tails will follow in email. Again, thank you for all you continually do. You are the class of the fi eld!
Ben
We will miss you Santa...

If you've been to any of the parades, you’ve seen that we have been very busy this spring and early summer working on our trailer. We brought Woodie out of the archives, and I've been real happy with using him in the parade. We had a lot of illness in our Clown family. Pray for us! And, if anybody wants to be a clown we sure could use the help. We have gained a couple new ones and we really appreciate them. anks go out to the guys who have been working so hard so we could get everything done for the parades. Also, thanks to all those who participated with that this spring.

Brethern, We are still shocked with the passing of Brother Bill Kaiser. He will be remembered for his tenure as KHYBER President and his generally smil-ing face. Please remember his smiling face and cryptic comments. We are diminished with his passing. Trap shooting is still the ird (3) Tuesday of the warm months. Shooting positions are still open for new shooters. Equipment and ammo is available for those without trap equipment. Do not forget the Sportsman raffl e September 9 at the Horse Patrol Grounds. A $20 ticket gets you a chance to win any number of weapons and accruments, plus a good feed at noon. e next KHYBER meeting is September 26 in the lounge of the temple. Nobles, I am pleased to announce the Radio Unit par-ticipated in "Field Day", which is an international "contest" which HAM operators all over the world attempt and make contact with each other using our radios and either bat-tery or generator power simulating "disaster" conditions or when (GOD forbid) the power grid goes down or our communication systems go down. HAM operators enjoy the hobby but also provide invaluable service to our com-munities thru establishing communications for supplies, medical assistance and contacting loved ones to nd out if they are safe in distressed areas. We also have received an equipment domination(s) which we are looking to install soon and raise our commu-nication capabilities to a new high. We are planning a General licence series of classes begin-ning a er the sportsman raffl e completes in late Sept. Old and new HAM enthusiast will be welcome.
More to come.Doug Schwartz

Hello Blowhards
Well, the parade at Warsaw was a success and all went well. We had Greg and Scott piping and I drummed. We also piped for the Columbia City Fire Department graduates on June 1st, where myself, Greg, Mark, Scott, Dick, Brian & Bobby played. We also have the following Shrine parades which are: Orland parade on July 29th, Wabash parade on August 5th at 4pm, and Manchester on August 12th. Also the Fly-in Breakfast is on August 27th however I think we could use a little break from rushing from parade to parade. We are all saddened by the passing of Bill Kaiser and we will remember his support of the bag-pipes. We also want to remember and give our thoughts and prayers to Nancy & Joe Jenckes and hope Nancy can recover from her infection. Well that seems to be all for now. I hope to see you at our next meeting. Until then, practice, practice, practice!
