Along the Way

What can I say? Following the Children’s Message this past Sunday, I can truly say that I am blessed. The month of October is traditionally observed as Pastor Appreciation month. Many of you have stopped by the office or sent cookies, dropped off gift cards, and even a couple books all added to many words of thanks and appreciation. For two weeks, the children worked diligently on making cards of thanks for me and presented them to me on Sunday morning during the 11:00 worship service. I can honestly say that there have been many ways that I have been told “Thank You” and “We appreciate all you do”. Sun-day was a little different as I sat among the kids and heard all their comments, not to mention the giggles and whispers that were shared with me as I sat on the step with them. WOW! Thank you to Ms. Vivian and all those who helped her. And THANK YOU to the children! You are the BEST!!!!

On Sunday, November 22, we will decorate the sanctuary and campus for the coming Christmas Season! We need help moving furnishings around in the sanctu-ary and narthex, bringing decora-

tions down from storage, helping assemble and decorate the Christmas Tree. Pastor David is arranging for a light lunch following the 11:00 Service that day for all who can come (or stay after). The more help, the easier the load.

A Day to Remember

Many churches celebrate All Saints Day with services of remembrance of saints. It is seldom that Protestants are gathered on November 1, so many churches observe All Saints Sunday each year on the Sunday following November 1. It is a day to remember the saints, "saints" by the New Testa-ment meaning of "all Christian people of every time and place." It is a day to celebrate the communion of saints as we remember those who have died, both in our local congregations and throughout the Church universal. On Sunday, November 1, we will observe “All Saints Day” as we pause for a moment in reflection for all those who have left our midst to join that cloud of witnesses in the heavens. If you find that you are unable to be with us on Sunday, please take a few minutes this week and remember the families of those who have lost loved ones this past year.

Joy! Unspeakable Joy! That’s what crosses most people’s minds when they think about Christmas! It’s also the title of our December 13th Christmas Production this year. Our choir and praise band are committed to making this production the best one yet! If you like to sing (even if it’s in the shower!) we can use YOU! To make this as big as we would like, we need all the voices we can get! Practices are on Wednesday nights at 7:30 (studies end at 7:15). Nursery is provided! We are practicing the Christmas music at the beginning of Choir Practice, and this rehearsal should not last more than about 45 minutes. Let me know if you’re inter-ested in participating so we can make sure to have a book for you! Blessings and Thanks! “K.K.”

THANK YOU to all who have turned in EOIM (Every One In Ministry) forms and Estimate of Giving Cards. This info will be processed in the coming weeks, after which you will be contacted concerning the area of service you are interested in. If you have not had the opportunity to complete this infor-

mation, there are still EOIM forms and Estimate of Giving cards available at “Guest Central,” in the Church Office, and in the Gym.
