• Alexander Graham Bell was a Scottish inventor and innovator.

• Born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland, he migrated to Canada in 1970,and then to the United States in 1871,becoming a U.S. citizen in 1882.

• His research on hearing and speech further led him to experiment with hearing devices that eventually culminated in the invention to the telephone.

• Bell was awarded the first U.S. patent for the invention of the telephone in 1876.

What made it interesting

• Upon Bell’s death, all telephones throughout the United States stilled their ringing for a silent minute in tribute to the main whose yearning to communicate made them possible. I think that is interesting because the whole United states did it.
