This Sunday we begin our new sermon series: Net Worth. In this series we will ask: what is our ‘net’ that we use to be fishermen of people? Where do we cast our nets? What are we catching with our nets? How are we using what we catch to nourish our souls? How are we investing in God’s Kingdom? How are we seeking God’s vision for our lives and for our church?

We live in a time of uncertainty. We hear from the media all that is wrong with our society. We hear economic reports that are not encouraging. In the midst of this culture it is easy to be discouraged and to lose hope. But as we look to our Bible and to our history, we see that God uses

people who reach for the heavens during times of uncertainty. God uses people who dream. God uses people to help the world turn back to God.

In this series, we will search for the ways that God is asking Aledo UMC to be a place of people who are reaching for the heavens; a place that is casting their nets out to share God’s love.

I look forward to worshipping with each of you on Sunday!

10 A.M. ADULT SUNDAYMORNING OPPORTUNITIES:

When “Pull Yourself Together”Doesn’t Work!

You’ve heard it time and time again: “Pull yourself together. . . Cheer up. . . Tough it out. . . It’s not that bad.” Perhaps people have said it to you. Or perhaps you keep saying it to yourself. But it hasn’t helped. You are still hurting. Things are coming apart, not coming together. Here’s the good news: You don’t have to go through your struggles alone. Help is available. Our Stephen Ministers are trained caregivers who will walk with you, listen to you, and provide confidential one-

to-one care as you search through the pieces and find what is truly in your heart. To learn more about Stephen Ministry for yourself or someone you know, talk with one of our Stephen Ministry Leaders: Trish or Bob Bull, or DeAndrea in the church office 817.441.8329 or at [email protected].

Sunday, April 10, 20116:30 p.m. at the

American Airlines Center

Join us for AUMC’s 6th annual Mavs game. This

year we get to see the Mavs play one of their Western Conference foes. This should be a good game and we always have a great time!

We have limited number of group tickets. If you want to go please sign up and pay Matt Reed: he will be in the Narthex the next couple of Sundays after each worship service (look for the basketball). The last day to sign up is October 31, or sooner if we run out of tickets like the last 2

years.

The Mav’s ticket office is holding seats in sections 324 and 316 for us. We have Fifty $29 tickets and Thirty $14 tickets available for this game.

On game day some of us may get together for dinner at the West End. Others may want to get to the game early and eat at the AA Center. The best way to go is to take the TRE train from downtown Fort Worth, if it is running that Sunday.
