Aldeia da Pedralva was completely in ruins until 2006. Aer a long process to discover all the owners/heritors it was possible to bring this village back to life again.

e villages main economy, Agriculture, collapsed and only the oldest people stayed.

So, since 25 YEARS AGO,this traditional Portuguese village,in the southwest Coast of Portugalwas abandoned by the youngest generations.

In 2006, when we discovered this village, the scenario was a pile of ruins, 9 inhabitants and very poor conditions to live in.

Aer a long process to discover all theowners/heritors (about 200 people), we bought 30 ruins and began to rebuild the village.

“Slow travel is about making conscious choices. It is about deceleration rather than speed. e journey becomes a moment to relax, rather than a stressful interlude imposed between home and destination. Slow travel re-engineers time, transforming it into a commodity of abundance rather than scarcity. And slow travel also reshapes our relationship with places, encouraging and allowing us to engage more intimately with the communities through which we travel.”
