• To try to put some of the things we have learned into practice, you will be asked to design an album cover for a fictional artist.

Band name

Band Image

Consider

• Music Genre

• Title Font

• Target Audience

• Artist Connotations (through props, locations, costume)

But Mostly Consider...

• This assignment is not about becoming experts of album covers but of challenging and testing yourself in terms of what you are able to do.

A Few Rules

• Your album cover must include at least one original photo/scanned image (you may combine this with found images, but better if you do not)

• You must draw out a design of the album that you try to stick to- this will force you to try to challenge yourself on Photoshop

Finally...

• Keep Things Practical: if you can’t get images for Monday then take a picture of yourself and test out what you want to do.

• This is about practice (this entails some experimenting and things going wrong)

Photographs

• Take multiple shots from different angles (always do one close-up)

• Think about framing & lighting- don’t overly rely on Photoshop

• If you are going to select the ‘artist’ then consider the background and things like hair
