Hello October! October is such a nice month. Would it be safe to say everyone loves
Thanksgiving? Getting together with friends and relatives for Thanksgiving dinner? The turkey
and cranberries, and pumpkin pie . . . . Yummy! There is also Halloween which can be lots of
fun with great treats to enjoy.
I don’t want to remind everyone but I will, last year it snowed on October 1st and the year before
that, it snowed on October 10th. I’m hoping and wishing that it doesn’t come until December this
year, but you never know. We have hired Intrepid Industries for snow removal this year and we
have our part-time Maintenance Man to help out with snow removal.
The days are much shorter and much cooler now. Keep yourself safe walking through the
daylight hours and dress appropriately for the weather.
Wishing you a wonderful October.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Brenda

Who likes turkey dinner? We are looking
forward to preparing you a wonderful
turkey dinner with all the trimmings for
Thanksgiving.
Fall is a great time for stews and hardy
soups. Good thing we have soup on the
menu everyday for lunch. We have four
wonderful cooks that certainly know how
to prepare excellent soups, served hot to
warm us up! We’re also looking forward
to preparing you some fun, scary treats
for Halloween.
Have a great month of October everyone!
What a great time of the year! Lots of fall yard
work to do with all the leaves falling off the trees.
Things will look bare for awhile.
Thanks to all the Residents for your help in
making the yard look so nice all summer and
reporting things that need to be fixed and taken
care of. You’re a great bunch!
Noel Burles will be here to sing
some great songs for our
birthday party on Wednesday,
October 23 at 2:00 p.m.

Emergency Procedures: Loss of Power
In the event we lose power in the lodge, we have plans in place to ensure continuation of services. There are several things you can do to stay safe:
1) Remain calm. 2) Ensure you have a flashlight in your suite and check on a regular basis to ensure the batteries
are still working. 3) If you are on oxygen, ensure you have adequate supplies and use your portable tanks until
power is restored. 4) Ensure your windows are closed and secured to help retain heat. 5) Fire doors close. Contact staff to assist you to open them.
Hot food and beverages may still be provided as we have gas stoves. For any other questions, please see your Manager.
Massage Students
On Thursday, October 31, the students are
back to offer free, 15-minute mini massages
between 1:00 and 3:00. Please support the
students and sign up for the mini massages!
We hope you sign up to help the students
practice their newly acquired skills!
You brighten my world more than you know
So that's why to you I surely do owe
A bunch of thanks, love, and care
For showing and sharing
My smiles and tears.
You gave me your love that's the best gift of all
You left sweet memories that I fondly recall
So thanks for your understanding
And your loving ways
That is surely for me
Increasing day by day.
