Week (31.05.2021-5.06.2021) 1) BCCL
World Environment Day was organized in Bharat Coking Coal Limited on
05.06.2021 at Panchvati Eco Park, Koyla Nagar under the chairmanship of Chairman-
cum-Managing Director Shri PM Prasad. Following the guidelines of COVID-19, first
of all the oath was administered by the Director (Technology/Operations) Shri
Chachanal Goswami to all for environmental protection. On this occasion,
“Environmental Mirror” was released for environmental awareness. Various online
competitions were also organized by the Environment Department on this occasion.
General Manager / Head of Department of BCCL Headquarters were present in the
program.

2) ECL In line with the theme of AKAM which is to celebrate India, ECL went on Green
ECL, Clean ECL. Development of Ecological Parks like Gunjan Ecological Park.
Jhanjra Eco park etc. Development of Gardens in the mining areas like Chandra
Shekhar Azad Udyan, Jhanjra Area. Replenishing Ground Water around Coalfields
through construction of Rain Water Harvesting structures and Water Conservation
Ponds at different areas under ECL command.
3) MCL
The Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav is being observed at Mahanadi Coalfields Limited to
commemorate the 75 years of India‟s Independence. Under this „Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav‟,
MCL has extended its helping hand to parentless and destitute children by providing Oxygen
Concentrator, ten nos. Pulse Oximetry and food materials under its CSR initiative.
The support of MCL shall help to meet the emergency health issues during pandemic through
life support system like Oxygen Concentrator & Oximetry. The grocery items provisioned for
one month shall greatly address the crying necessity of food when the community donation in
kind has been stopped to the organization due to deadly 2nd
wave of Covid 19 pandemic.

Around 500 children residing in Adruta Children Home (a unit of RAWA Academy) will be
benefited out of this noble endeavor of the company.
4) NCL
CMD on this occasion, NCL Mr. Prabhat Kumar Sinha gave wishes to join the NCL
personnel and beneficiaries of World Environment Day 2021 through virtual . Mr
Sinha said NCL made yet about more plant 24.7 million and this campaign will be
similar to moving forward. Mr. Sinha ongoing for pollution control in NCL region
briefed the Afmsi (first mile connectivity) projects and have NCL's commitment to
environmental protection and promotion.

10 crore given for oxygen plant in 05 medical colleges of Madhya Pradesh. On
Friday, Shri Prabhat Kumar Sinha, CMD, NCL, a leading subsidiary of Coal India
Limited, met the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh State Shri Shivraj Singh
Chouhan and asked for 10 crore assistance to strengthen the fight of Madhya Pradesh
Government against COVID. amount provided.
With this collaboration, five PSA oxygen plants of 1500 LPM capacity will be set up
in medical colleges operating at Bhopal, Indore, Rewa, Jabalpur and Sagar. This

initiative of NCL will strengthen the state's campaign against Covid. Along with this,
the company has also given an assistance of 1.75 crore for the establishment of an
Oxygen Generating Plant at AIIMS, Bhopal for the treatment and rescue of patients
suffering from Covid-19 from its CSR item.
5) SECL Area- Jamuna Kotma
Activity: - Organization of Seedball initiative for students of Kendriya Vidyalaya,
Jamuna Colliery, Dist. Anuppur
Seed balls are an ancient way for spreading seed plants with cultivation instruments
such as a plough, without exposing the soil. Seedballs can be as effective as ploughing
or boiling, so that they can be manufactured by everybody in the world with access to
clay, soil and seed. In view of the covetous situation and the closing of schools, an
initiative was developed to raise awareness of environmental conservation by students
from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jamuna Colliery and to use the seed ball technology to
protect our environment.
Students participated with complete enthusiasm in this poster competition.

6) WCL
Chandrapur Area distributing Cloth bags to all FEMALE employees on
occassion of World Environment Day.
In the Kanhan Area, Tree Plantation was held at Tandsi Dispensary on this
day.
In Nagpur Area also Tree Plantation was held at Gondegaon SubArea.
Followed by Majri Area, distribution of Cloth bags to the employees on
occassion of World Environment Day.
Cloth Bag distribution was been conducted by WCL HQ in slum areas of
Nagpur on this occasion.
In Wani North Area, Tree Plantation was held on occassion of World
Environment Day.
In Pench Area, All the Employees took Environment Day Pledge on this day
and also Tree Plantation was held on this occasion.

7) CCL World Environment Day was celebrated on 05.06.2021 in CCL HQ, by planting of saplings
in CCL HQ, the event was attended by senior executives of CCL HQ . The World
Environment day was also celebrated in the command areas of CCL by planting of Saplings.

8) CIL
On this occasion in CIL HQ, plantation drive was conducted and Essay Competition
and Painting Competition was organised by Environment Department on the various
topic related to Environment and Ecological Restoration.

9) CMPDI
CMPDI(HQ) celebrated World Environment Day 2021 with the theme "Ecosystem
Restoration". Shri R.N.Jha, D(T/RD&T), CMPDIL hoisted the Environment flag and
administered Environment pledge to the employees and said ecosystem restoration is
crucial and necessary to fight to climate change. Shri S.K.Gomasta, (DT/CRD) on this
occasion read out the CIL chairman message and said to adopt sustainable
development methods and live harmoniously with nature. On this occasion FD's,
GM's/HoD's, employees were present in limited numbers and carried out Sapling
plantation drive following all COVID-19 Protocols.

Webinar on 'Myths and Realities of Covid-19' for all NLCIL employees and their
families for creating awareness as advised by Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of
India by following the preventive measures as maintaining social distancing, wearing
of Mask etc. and use the Webroom link.

SCCL Report-Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav
Environmental Awareness Week
The 12th week of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav was scheduled for “Creating awareness
against Tobacco” in period between 30.05.2021 to 05.06.2021. However, the
program is changed to “Environmental Awareness Week” due to coincidence with
World Environment Day.
The program was inaugurated by Sri D. Satyanarayana, Director (E&M) at the
corporate office. Addressing the gathering he highlighted the SCCL efforts to reduce
pollution by installing solar power plants, plantation in and around the mines. He also
advised to contribute each individual to protect the nature. Environmental pledge
was administered to the employees on the occasion The Environmental Awareness
Week was also celebrated throughout the company.
