Conclusions

Air Liquide has been deeply involved in the ULCOS program and has demonstrated in Mefos pilot plant the feasibility and the performances of a (Vacuum) Pressure Swing Adsorption system associated with Top Gas Recycle Blast Furnace

Filtration pilot plant at Florange has been successfully operated

Next step is to demonstrate Top Gas Recycle Blast Furnace at commercial scale

A new offer of Air Separation Unit dedicated to Blast Furnace application could almost reduce power consumption by a factor of 2 compared to high pressure, high purity oxygen for basic oxygen furnace
