PICKUP GAME POLICY Pickup basketball and volleyball are designed for adults ages 18
and over to play a few friendly games. Players under the age of 18
will need a parent or guardian present in the gym at all times.
If there are multiple players or teams are waiting, a wait list will be
created in the kiosk by the Gym Attendant to sign up your team
for the next game. This will allow an organized way for teams to
compete. The next team on the list will be on the side of the court
keeping score.
BASKETBALL: Games are to 21 by 1’s and 2’s. Since there are no
official referees on–site for basketball, players will have to call their
own fouls and ref their own games. No shooting free throws, as
fouls will be taken out at half court.
VOLLEYBALL: Minimum of 6 players. Games are to 21. Next team
will ref the game by calling serve, net violations, and provide two
(2) line judges.
To allow everyone the opportunity to compete, the winning team
will stay on the court for a maximum of two (2) consecutive games.
On their second win, the losing team will stay on and the winning
team can be placed back on the wait list in the kiosk.
Come join other adults who wish to play sports in an atmosphere
that is compliant with The Salvation Army policies and procedures
of Kroc Center Hawaii. The Kroc Center Hawaii Athletic Center has
a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY — NO CUSSING OR FIGHTING. Players
who do so will be dismissed immediately from the Athletic Center
and be asked NOT to return until the next day. Kroc Center Hawaii
memberships can and will be revoked if deemed necessary by the
Member Services Desk.

KROCSTORY
PLAY TO WIN RECAPIn July 2014, Kroc Center Hawaii hosted 250 rival varsity and junior varsity football players from
Campbell High School and Kapolei High School, along with their coaches and parents at the first Kroc
Play to Win event. Pacific Island Athletics Association (PIAA) provided valuable information to the young
athletes about the realities of NCAA DI Scholarships and other possible options to fund their college
education while continuing their athletic pursuits at the different division levels. A panel of current
University of Hawaii football players shared testimonies of their college journey, the finality of football
and the importance of academics for long-term success. University of Hawaii West Oahu presented
new curriculum programs, and the E Ola Pono Ma Kapolei anti-drug coalition spoke of the laws and
dangers of underage drinking. This day was a sure victory for everyone involved.
VISIONUtilize sports to promote a healthy lifestyle by producing physically, emotionally, and spiritually virtuous athletes.
MISSIONTo build our athletes’ character–instilling a sense of respect, confidence, humility, and honor by providing an environment that emphasizes discipline, hard work, perseverance, and the pursuit of excellence in all that we do.
