AHS Teaching for Learning Framework At All Hallows', we are committed to providing a learning environment which nurtures and challenges each student to discover their potential and purpose within the tradition of the Sisters of Mercy. Through our teaching we seek to intentionally form young women whose words and actions embody the values of: Respect, Integrity, Service, Compassion, Joy and Justice. This framework provides both a shared understanding of teaching for learning at All Hallows' and strategies to optimise learning within the classroom environment. Responsive Practice is developed through a teacher's purposeful attention to: Constructing learning episodes which include checks for understanding Responding to evidence of learning by adjusting teaching strategies Adjusting learning environments to meet the needs and the development of learners Academic care is provided through a teacher's purposeful attention to: Building student capacity to engage with a range of constructive feedback Guiding students in ways of working with others Providing authentic opportunities for student autonomy and choice in their learning Engaged Professionalism is developed through a teacher's purposeful attention to: Collaborating on classroom practice and learning with colleagues Implementing contemporary practice and educational research Establishing and maintaining collaborative community partnerships Engaged Professionalism Teachers at All Hallows' create a professional community in a Mercy context through reflective practice, constructive feedback, and learning from research and innovation. Responsive Practice Teachers at All Hallows' respond to diverse learners by applying high-impact pedagogical strategies and subject area expertise. Academic Care Teachers at All Hallows' are committed to developing positive learning relationships that support engagement, interpersonal connection, and achievement.
