BillBarkerhasportrayedThomasJeffersoninavarietyofvenuessincehisfirstappearanceatIndependenceHallinPhiladelphiain1984.HejoinedtheColonialWilliamsburgstaffin1993,portrayingJeffersonandassistinginthedevelopmentofJeffersonprograms.BornandraisedinPhiladelphia,hehasbeenfascinatedwithJeffersonsincehisyouth.HeenjoysresearchingtheAmericanworldJeffersonknewwithaninterestintherolethemanplayedandcontinuestoplayinourAmericanidentity.Barkeris,coincidentally,thesameheight,weightandgeneralappearanceasMr.Jefferson.AVillanovaUniversityhistorygraduate,Barkerwasattractedtothestageatanearlyageandbecameaprofessionalactor,directorandproducer.

LindsayholdsbachelordegreeswithinterdisciplinaryhonorsinHistoryandWomen’sStudiesfromthePennsylvaniaStateUniversi-tyandmaster’sanddoctorateinhistoryfromtheCollegeofWilliam&Mary.Herbookproject,basedondissertation,analyzestheeconomicfunctionsofmarriageinEarlyAmerica.Sheusesbothpublicandprivatedocumentstoascertainhowfamiliesplannedfinan-ciallyandhowmarriagefunctionedasaconduitforvarioustypesofproperty.Lindsay’sresearchconnectstheexperiencesoffamiliesandindividualstothewiderforcesofearlyAmerica’svolatile,growingmarketeconomywithinthecontextofregionallawandsociety.Morebroadly,sheisinterestedintheintersectionsofthehistoriesofgender,domesticviolence,medicine,thelaw,andcapitalism.Lindsay’srecentconferencepresentationsincludetheAmericanHistoricalAssociation,theSocietyofHistoriansoftheEarlyAmericanRepublic,theBusinessHistoryConference,and(forthcoming)theOmohundroInstituteofEarlyAmericanHistoryandCultureAnnualConference.

Dr.LawrencePaskaistheExecutiveDirectoroftheNationalCouncilfortheSocialStudies.LarrybeganhiscareerasamiddleschoolsocialstudiesteacherinNewYorkStatepublicschooldistricts.HelaterservedinmultiplerolesattheNewYorkStateEducationDepartment(Albany,NY).HeledNewYork’sstandardsandassessmentprogramsforP-12socialstudieseducationasastatesocialstudiesspecialist,establishedtheOfficeofEducationalDesignandTechnologyinP-12Education,andimplementedtheBoardofRegents’StatewideLearningTechnologyPlanandregulationsforonlineandblendedlearningastheCoordinatorofTechnologyPolicy.LarryreturnedtoschoolsastheDirectorofSocialStudiesfortheHarrisonCentralSchoolDistrict(Harrison,NY),leadingK-12socialstudies,business,andlibrarymediadepartments.Mostrecently,LarryservedastheDirectorofProfessionalDevelopmentfortheSouthernWestchesterBoardofCooperativeEducationalServices(BOCES),whereheandhisteamprovidedinstructionalprogramsandservicesfor32publicschooldistrictsinthegreaterNewYorkCityregion,supporteddata-driveninstruction,developedinstructionalleadershipseminars,andwereinstrumentalinimplementingNewYorkState’sK-12SocialStudiesFramework.WithintheNCSScommunity,Larryservedasthe2015–2016PresidentoftheNewYorkStateCouncilfortheSocialStudies(NYSCSS),andreceivedNYSCSS’DistinguishedSocialStudiesServiceAwardin2017.

IndiaMeisselcurrentlyteachesatLakelandHighSchoolinSuffolk,Virginia,wheresheservesastheHistoryDepartmentChairpersonandLeadTeacherforU.S.History.Shehastaughtstudentsatalllevelsfromthevirtualtoinclusion,toAdvancedPlacementandDualEnrollment,duringher30-yearcareer.Inaddition,shehasservedasanAdjunctProfessorofHistoryatPaulD.CampCommunityCollegeonboththeSuffolkandSmithfieldcampusesforthepast20years.IndiahasalsobeenpublishedintheareasofEconomicsandHolocausteducation,makingnumerouspresentationsatnational,regional,state,andlocalconferences.InadditiontoNCSS,shehasbeenhonoredforherteachingbytheVirginiaCouncilfortheSocialStudies,TheNationalandVirginiaSocietiesoftheDaughtersoftheAmericanRevolution,andtheNationalandVirginiaCouncilsonEconomicEducation.AlifelongvisitortoColonialWilliamsburg,IndiajoinedtheEducationalDepartmentin2007asawriter/collaboratorwiththeweb-basedIdeaofAmericaprogram.BeginningJuly1,2018,IndiaMeisselwilltransitionfromNCSSPresident-ElecttoPresident.
