Make Your Own MobileColor, decorate, and then cut out the mobile parts provided in the next two panels. Paste them onto thick cardstock or cardboard. Remember to make two copies of every item so your mobile looks the same from both sides. You can also add your own illustrated pieces.

Punch holes in the designs where the circles indicate, and use your own ribbon or string to tie the hanging parts to the larger caterpillar piece. Tie thick string through the hole of the caterpillar piece and tape the string to your ceiling—you now have a hanging mobile!

Create Your Own AntennaeTwist two pipe cleaners together to make a headband that fi ts your head. Next, twist pipe cleaners into coils so they stand straight up when affi xed to the headband base. Finally, glue pom poms or any other light, decorative materials to the tops of the coils.

Decorate an Egg Carton CaterpillarCut one strip of cups (6 cups) from a cardboard egg carton. Use your creativity to paint and decorate the cups to create the caterpillar’s body. Use pipe cleaners to create antennae, and buttons or beads to create the eyes.

Experiment with Primary and Secondary ColorsUsing watercolors or acrylic paints, explore how mixing primary colors together can create secondary colors. Use a paper plate as your artist’s palette and combine the following paints together to see what new colors you can create:• Red and yellow paint• Yellow and blue paint• Blue and red paint

You can use a second paper plate as a canvas to create your own artistic painting with the colors you created.
