Requires Senior Officers/Officers/Assistant Officers/ Assistants
in Finance/Accounts, Administration and Purchase & Stores
The International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER,www.iter.org) is a 5 Billion project in which India
is one of the seven member with 9.09% contribution of equipments. (This will be supplied in-kind, i.e., by building
the systems/components in India and sending them to the construction site at Cadarache in France). The activities
in India are coordinated by the Domestic Agency called ITER-India(www.iter-india.org). To help it in carrying out
its responsibilities for the ITER Project, ITER-India wishes to appoint personnel in the areas of Finance/Accounts,
Administration and Purchase & Stores. While these appointments are for the period of Construction phase of ITER
which is about 10 years, it is likely that these will continue further into the Operation phase which may be foranother 20 years.
Details of the posts are as below:
1. Chief of Accounts & Financial Advisor:(1 post) PB-3 (Rs.15,600-39,100/-) with Grade Pay of Rs.7600/-.
Job Description: To handle all activities related with Accounts and Finance and also act as Internal Financial
Advisor to the Project Director, ITER-India on all financial matters concerned with the project.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:Graduate/Post Graduate with PG Diploma in Business/Finance management
from a reputed institute or Graduate/ Post Graduate with ACA/SAS Accountant qualification having knowledge ofGovt. of Indias rules and regulations, various Acts, Govt. accounting systems, etc. Should have been serving in
equivalent grade or have 6 years experience in supervisory capacity in the next lower grade (Pre-revised Rs 10,000-
15,200/-) in relevant field.
Desirable: Knowledge of computerized accounting systems, cost accountancy, etc.
2. Senior Administrative Officer: (1 post) PB-3 (Rs. 15,600-39,100/-) with Grade Pay of Rs. 6600/-.
Job Description: To handle total administrative functions at ITER-India including establishment, recruitment, HR
related and all aspects of general administration.
Essential Qualifications & Experience: Graduate with PG Diploma / Degree in Business / Personnel Management
from a reputed institute. Knowledge of Govt. of Indias rules and regulations, various Acts, Legal background and
court related matters etc. is essential. Should have been serving in the same grade or have 6 years experience in
supervisory capacity in the next lower grade (Pre - revised Rs. 8000-13500/-) in relevant field.
Desirable: Knowledge of Computerized office systems.

3. Senior Purchase & Stores Officer:(1 post) PB-3 (Rs. 15,600-39,100/-) with Grade Pay of Rs. 6600/-.
Job Description: To handle all international and national procurement activities/contracts of the project and all
Stores related activities including transportation/ insurance of materials at national and international levels.
Essential Qualifications & Experience: Graduate/Post-Graduate with PG Diploma in Materials Management from
a reputed institute. Knowledge of Customs, Excise, Sales Tax etc. is essential. Candidate should possess thorough
knowledge of Import & Export of large volume procurement. Engineering Graduates can also apply. The candidate
should have been serving in the same grade or should have 6 years experience in supervisory capacity in the next
lower grade (Pre-revised Rs 8000-13500) in relevant field.
Desirable: Knowledge of computerized procurement systems; Familiarity with procurement of scientific
equipments, etc.
4. Senior Accounts Officer:(1 Post) PB-3 (Rs. 15,600-39,100/-) with Grade Pay 6600/-.
Job Description: To handle activities related with Accounts and Finance of the project.
Essential Qualifications & Experience: Graduate with ACA / SAS and 5 years experience in supervisory capacity in
the next lower grade (Pre revised Rs. 8000-13,500/-), OR
M. Com. with 8 years experience of which 5 years should be in supervisory capacity in the next lower grade, OR
B.Com with 12 years experience of which 5 years should be in supervisory capacity of the next lower grade.
Knowledge ofGovt. of Indias rules and regulations, various Acts, Govt. accounting systems, etc.
Desirable: Knowledge of computerized accounting systems, cost accountancy etc.
5. Administrative Officer:(1 Post) PB-3 (Rs. 15,600-39,100/-) with Grade Pay 5400/-.
Job Description: To handle total administrative functions at ITER-India including establishment, recruitment, HR
related and all aspects of general administration.
Essential Qualifications & Experience: Post Graduate in appropriate branch of management from a reputed
institution, with minimum 2 years experience in supervisory capacity in the next lower grade (Pre-revised Rs.
6,500-10,500/-) OR
Graduate with minimum 10 years experience of which at least 5 years in supervisory capacity in the next lower
grade (pre revised Rs. 6,500-10,500/-) in relevant field.
Should be familiar with Govt. of Indias rules and regulations, various Acts, Legal background and court related
matters, etc.
Desirable: Knowledge on Computerized office systems, Familiarity with Gujarati language & working knowledge in
Hindi.

6. Purchase & Stores Officer:(1 Post) PB-3 (Rs. 15,600-39,100/-) with Grade Pay 5400/-.
Job Description: To handle all international and national procurement activities/contracts of the project and all
Stores related activities.
Essential Qualifications & Experience: Post Graduate in appropriate branch of management from a reputed
institute/ Engineering Graduate with minimum 2 years in supervisory capacity in the next lower grade (Pre-revised
Rs. 6,500-10,500/-) in the relevant field, OR
Graduate with minimum 10 years experience of which at least 5 years should be in supervisory capacity in the next
lower grade (Pre-revised Rs. 6,500-10,500/-).
Knowledge of Customs, Excise, Sales Tax, etc. is essential. Candidate should possess thorough knowledge of Import
& Export of large volume procurement.
Desirable: Knowledge of computerized procurement systems and familiarity with procurement of scientific
equipment;Familiarity with Gujarati language & working knowledge in Hindi is desirable.
Out of the six posts above (Sr. No. 1-6), only three will be filled at the sole discretion of ITER-India.
Posts with Sr. No. 4, 5 & 6 are in lieu of Sr. No. 1, 2 & 3 respectively.
7. Assistant Officer- Accounts: (2 posts) (Pre-revised scale 6500-10500) PB-2 with Grade Pay 4200/-
(Currently under revision, awaiting upgradation from the Department).
Job Description: To assist in Accounts related activities of the project.
Essential Qualifications & Experience: M. Com with 3 years experience of immediate lower grade OR B. Com with
minimum 7 years of which at least 3 years should be in supervisory capacity in the next lower grade OR fresh
ACA/ICWA/SAS. Knowledge of computerized systems in the relevant field is essential.
8. Assistant Officer-Purchase & Stores: (1 post) (Pre-revised scale 6500-10500) PB-2 with Grade Pay 4200/-
(Currently under revision, awaiting upgradation from the Department).
Job Description: To assist in Purchase and Stores related activities of the project.
Essential Qualifications & Experience: Graduate with minimum 7 years experience of which at least 3 years in the
next lower grade in Purchase & Stores duties. Candidate should be familiar with import and export of goods.
Knowledge of computerized systems in the relevant field is essential.
9.Assistant (Cashier):(1 Post) (Pre-revised scale 5000-8000) PB-2 with Grade Pay 4200/-.
Job Description: To assist in Accounts and handling cash related activities of the project.
Essential Qualifications & Experience: Graduate with minimum 5 years experience of which at least 3 years should
be in Accounts department. Knowledge of computerized systems in the relevant field is essential.

10. Assistant - Administration:(1 post) (Pre-revised scale 5000-8000) PB-2 with Grade Pay 4200/-;
Job Description: To assist in Administrative activities of the project.
Essential Qualifications & Experience: Graduate with minimum 5 years experience of which at least 3 years should
be in administrative duties. Knowledge of computerized systems in the relevant field is essential.
11. Assistant - Purchase & Stores: (2 posts) (Pre-revised scale 5000-8000) PB-2 with Grade Pay 4200/-.
Job Description: To assist in Purchase and Stores related activities of the project.
Essential Qualifications & Experience: Graduate with minimum 5 years experience of which at least 3 years should
be in Purchase & Stores duties, especially related to Import and Export. Knowledge of computerized systems in the
relevant field is essential.

Note:
ITER is an international collaborative project and the working language is English. Candidates are expected to have
a good command over written and spoken English.
(1) Total emoluments shall consist of Basic Pay (Band Pay + Grade Pay), Dearness Allowance, House RentAllowances, Transport Allowance, Professional Update Allowance, as per applicable Govt. rules. Staff being
appointed under this Project is covered under New Pension Scheme.

(2) Subsidized medical, transport and Canteen facilities are available.
(3) Reservation quota is applicable as per prevailing rules.
(4) Age limit for posts 1-6 is not below 30 and not over 45 years and for posts 7-11 the age limit is not over 35
years. Age limit will be counted on the last date of receipt of applications.
Age relaxation for SC/ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and Physically challenged candidates is applicable as per applicable
rules of Government of India.
(5) ITER- India may fill these posts either through recruitment or on deputation basis with persons found most
suitable in the selection process.
(6) Short listed candidates will be called for a personal interview at Gandhinagar. To and fro Train (2T AC for posts
1-4 and Sleeper Class for other posts) fare/ State Transport bus fare by direct and shortest route will be
reimbursed to out-station candidates called for interview on production of ticket or proof of journey such as
