Light Winds - less than 12 knots Moderate Winds - range of 12 - 19 knots. Strong Wind Warning - range of 20 - 33 knots. Gale Warning - range of 34 to 47 knots. Storm Warning - range of 48 - 63 knots. Hurricane Force Wind Warning- 64 knots or more.
2 kilometers approximately equals 1 knot.
