Selected materials through a screening rubric for high corrosion resistance, high ductility, and low cost. Constructed and assembled underwater turbine and tank utility for testing. Tested the ability of turbine to generate power continuously at 25 RPMs. Blade positioning allowed design to produce rotation with turbulent water flow. Performed kinetic analysis, dynamic analysis, and flow simulation. Siemens NX: Constructed and assembled a pair of locking pliers using Siemens NX CAD software. Performed a FEM analysis using the different nodal settings and different degrees of freedom constraints. Wrote a report on design specifications and FEA solutions. Wind Tunnel: Drafted wind tunnel sketches to test Bernoulli’s equations . Design was created using Solidedge CAD software. Parts were fabricated and machined at Germ Free using drill press, deburring tool, and a rivet gun. Constructed the nozzle with honeycomb screens for linear flow. Performed analysis using pitot tubes to record the air flow using a DAQ and LabView software.
