Overview
The Hydraulic Institute (HI) Subscription Service provides company-wide web access to ANSI/HI Pump Standards for one or more simultaneous users, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from anywhere in the world. The number of simultaneous users per subscription is based on the number of subscription seats purchased by your company. The duration of each subscription is one year starting from the purchase date.
There are 8 different package options for the service. Use the following link to see the itemized pump standards in each package:

Please refer to your Subscription Welcome Letter for the package and the number of seats purchased by your company.
Each subscription requires one or more Administrators to manage the Users authorized by your company. The Administrator will:
• add and delete Users• change User information• monitor usage and clear seats if necessary• be the point of contact for Users
One of the Administrators must be designated as the Primary Administrator and will in addition to the above:
• add any additional Administrators to the User table• inform the Administrators and/or Users that the Hydraulic Institute Subscription
Service is active• receive notices of any changes to the service• coordinate communications between HI and other Administrators and/or Users• receive and process the annual subscription renewal notice
The system will not allow the Primary Administrator to be deleted from the list of users. If the Primary Administrator changes, notify HI by email to [email protected] or by phone to 973-267-9700 x 1181.

Company Management
Logo
Space has been allowed for your company logo in gif or jpg format. Image dimensions should not exceed 200 pixels wide x 57 pixels high.
Company Name
Only one company name may be used per subscription even if your company has many divisions or subsidiaries with access to your subscription. If the name of the company holding the subscription changes during the term of the subscription, please change it here and notify [email protected].
Idle Timeout
Use this feature to control seat use by idle time. This feature is optional. If you choose not to use it, a seat will remain open until a user logs out of the system even if not actively using documents.

Seat Management
1. The number of simultaneous users is restricted to the number of seats purchased.
2. The administrator can clear seats for a different user to gain access.• go to Seat Management page• check list of current users• use the time idle data to decide whether a user seat appears to be inactive
• clear seat by clicking in the Clear Seat column• the user who has been cleared will get a message: “Your seat has been forced closed
by the administrator. Your document will be closed.”• the other user will be able to login
3. Administrators cannot add seats to the subscription. If additional seats become necessary, contact Hydraulic Institute about purchasing additional seats for your subscription.

IP/Referring URL Management
Users may be authenticated without a login by these 2 methods:• Method 1: Referring URL from your password protected website• Method 2: IP Address
Important Note: Access to the subscription by either of these methods will log the user in as Anonymous. Allowing anonymous access may make it easier for the users but will limit the information that can be gained from the usage reports.
It is possible also for unauthorized individuals to gain access to your subscription by falsifying their sending URL to mimic your URL.
Method 1: Referring URL
The Referring URL method is restricted to one URL per subscription.
1. Have your website administrator add a link on one of your password protected web pages to the following URL: http://subscriptions.pumps.org
2. On the IP/Referring URL Management screen:
• click in the URL section row• an editing screen will open with a form for entering the referring page URL• copy the referring page URL from your website page that contains the link• paste the referring page URL into the form field on the edit screen
• click to add the URL
3. If your referring URL changes
• delete the current URL by clicking the • follow the instructions above
Method 2: IP Address
The IP Address method allows multiple entries.
To add new IP addresses:• click “Add a new IP Address” in the IP section• an editing screen will open with a form for typing in the IP and the Subnet Mask*
• type the entries, verify correctness then click to add• add additional IP addresses as needed
To edit IP addresses:
• click in the IP section of the primary screen• make changes in the editing screen when it opens
To delete IP addresses:
• click in the IP section of the primary screen
Please Note: Users authenticated under either of these two methods are Anonymous and have not logged in to the system; therefore, no logout option will be presented to them.
*Subnet Mask is optional, required only if your company uses subnetworks.

Add/Edit/Delete Users
The number of potential users is unlimited. The number of simultaneous users is restricted to the number of seats in your corporate subscription. Use this screen to add users one at a time and to edit or delete users.
Add new users:• type user information into the form fields at the top of the screen• check the Admin box only if the user will be an administrator as well as a user• click the Add User box to complete
Edit existing users:
• click • a new screen will open• make changes as needed to the appropriate fields
• click to save the changes and return to previous screen
Delete existing users:
• delete a user listing by clicking

Bulk Upload Users
The number of potential users is unlimited. The number of simultaneous users is restricted to the number of seats in your corporate subscription.
Use this screen to add multiple users at the same time. It cannot be used to edit or delete existing users.
• click on “Download the Bulk Upload Spreadsheet”• when File Download box appears, choose Save to save the file as an .xls
file to the location of your choice. Do not use the Open option in the File Download box.
• enter data for each user in the columns: First Name, Last Name, Email, Password (All these columns are required data.)
• enter Y in the Admin column only if the user will be an administrator• save the .xls file again• return to the Bulk Upload Users screen in your browser• browse for the .xls file• click the Upload box to add the new users• if upload is successful, a message “record inserted successfully” appears• navigate to Add/Edit/Delete Users screen to check upload

Eight Usage Reports are provided:• Usage by Document• Usage by User• Title Requests• Print Requests• Turnaways• COUNTER BR1• COUNTER BR4• COUNTER BR6
To view a report:• choose the report from the drop-down menu• select the from date by clicking the calendar icon• select the through date by clicking the calendar icon• click the Display Report box• the selected report will display on a new screen• reports can be saved to Excel by clicking the Export to Excel box
