STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

It was initially, neither my passion nor interest in software that led me to take Computer Science Engineering as my Undergrad course. It was solely my parent's decision that I apply to it, and here I am today, sure of what to be done with the rest of my life.

Up until my Undergrad studies I had honestly next to zero idea about what I wanted to do in life. My schooling had infused in me a sense of responsibility towards any subject I take up. A speech by the then, President of India, Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, who, on a visit to our city, talked about the nation and the 'importance of its young engineers' planted the idea of pursuing a career in engineering. By securing 76% in 10th Grade (I.C.S.E) and 89% in my senior secondary school, in which Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry were my major subjects, I bagged the opportunity to study in one of the top Engineering colleges in my state.

In my early days as a student in computers, I was a bit skeptical about any other course. I thought that in the age of computers and software, electronics or any other wouldn't have much scope. Obviously this was the opinion formed during my brief period of ignorance of other fields. It wasn't long before my opinion had changed entirely.

My interest in the subject had first blossomed in the Freshman year of my Undergrad course, with being acquainted to the fundamentals of computers. The introduction to the basic programming and the elucidation of its working at the molecular level was nothing short of a revelation to me. Eventually, as I came to be familiar with more and more topics, I thought it would be best to keep up with the latest advancements each had to offer. Conveniently enough, our college comprised of an CSI(computer society of India) Student chapter, through the membership of which I had access to the forums and magazines, and also later, went on to be a part of the chapter.

As a part of our Undergrad curriculum, I've also had the chance to work on a study oriented project under the guidance of our faculty. It was a good opportunity to experience the practical aspect of programming and also to apply my technical knowledge to good use. Directed by the Head of Department and Consultancy Centre, I worked on " " which does some crap I'm going to input later. Keeping in mind the many facets of life, I also maintained a healthy exposure with Extra-Curricular activities. Effectively leading the team of Certifications at the Sports Fest in our college, and successfully inducing a Campus newspaper.

This has just been a beginning to all my endeavors. As I finished my Undergrad there came the time to join my family business. Then came a different swing in my thoughts. The vast expanse of the fields of business astounded me as I got familiar with it. It made me realize, that one lifetime can only be enough to thoroughly study but a portion of it. After giving much thought to the prospects of a graduate degree, and considering my newly found passion for business, I have made my decision to pursue Masters in Business Administration with the focus being International Business.

"A great teacher affects eternity; we can never tell where his influence stops."

-Henry B. Adam

A university is a centre for excellence in specialized areas, and students like me seek 'great teachers' in such respected institutions for growth and all-round development as an individual. Having visited and studied the website of your department and after consulting various sources of expertise, I have indeed inferred that your Business program enjoys an enviable reputation. It is for these reasons I wish to be a part of your esteemed organization, the benefits of which I hope to reap and relish in my career ahead.

Equipped with the passion, curiosity and determination to grow, and a knack for excelling in any aspect of my academia, I see myself as a viable candidate and therefore, apply to your Graduate Program. Having been convinced that I have a lot to learn from your institution, I hope our prospective association will be the foundation of a helpful symbiotic relationship.
