3. SITE WALKTHROUGH ATTENDEES

See attached attendance sheets. 4. WALKTHROUGH QUESTIONS/ANSWERS/CLARIFICATIONS

Q1. Are there any electrical demolition requirements for the existing alum tank being removed?

A. Disconnect and remove chemical pump and all instrumentation associated with the alum tank.

Q2. What are the voltage requirements for the clarifier VFDs? A. The existing motors and MCC are 480V, therefore the VFDs will also be

480V.

Q3. What are the enclosure requirements for equipment? A. All equipment within the Plant 200 process area shall be NEMA 4 rated.

Office area equipment shall be NEMA 12.

Q4. Floor or wall mount for the Remote IO panel in Plant 200 area? A. Drawings show floor mount. As this panel will not fit in the position shown,

revise the location to under the stairs at the South end of the filter structure. Provide and affix 20 ga stainless steel sheet on underside of stair stringers and landing to re-direct material falling through the grated stairs away from the panel.

Q5. Are the existing clarifier motors to remain? A. Yes. The existing equipment motors shall remain. The speed adjusting

motor (fractional HP) shall be removed as part of the existing controller. The existing transmissions shall remain; there are no modifications to the drive trains. The VFDs shall provide new speed control directly to the motors.

Q6. Is the contractor to provide loop drawings?

A. Yes. The loop drawings shall be provided as part of the shop drawings from the panel shop. KGS will provide complete IO schedule to the successful proponent to allow completion of the loop drawings.

Q7. Is the contractor required to provide the shop drawing source files, or is PDF acceptable?

A. PDF shop drawings are acceptable.

Q8. Are the shop drawings required to be produced in AutoCAD? A. Any professional CAD software is acceptable. Poor quality shop drawings

will be rejected and require re-submission.

Q9. Is the PLC required to perform wire list monitoring? A. No, this is not a requirement.

Q10. Who supplies the Apple iPad devices?

A. The contractor shall supply two (2) Apple iPads, complete with 9.7" screens, 32GB, and 4G LTE accessibility. The engineer shall configure.

Q11. Who supplies the wireless/mobility equipment?

A. The contractor shall supply two (2) Ethernet 4G LTE Modems, approved equal to Microhard Bullet-LTE-NA.

Q12. Who is providing the HMI programming? A. Any reference to HMI within the contract documents is to be removed.

SCADA modifications will be completed by the engineer.

Q13. Are there any instrument air upgrades? Including piping or valving? A. There are no upgrades to any of the instrument air systems at this time.

Q14. Is an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) to be provided for the PLC and Remote IO

panel? A. Yes. A UPS will be required for each panel. UPS shall be approved equal to

MGE Pulsar EX10 series complete with status information card.

Q15. Is Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of the PLC/Remote IO panels required? A. No. Final testing of all loops and functions will be held during commissioning

of said loops/functions.

Q16. Do the PLC/Remote IO panels have to be CSA certified, or can we include these in the permit for construction?

A. All equipment/assemblies, including but not limited to the PLC/Remote IO panels, shall be supplies as CSA certified assemblies.

Q17. Do the chemical pumps require individual power circuits? A. At this time the new chemical pumps shall connect to the existing chemical

pump circuit(s). And the PLC/Remote IO panels shall be powered from the next available spare circuit in the local panelboard.

Q18. Is the Filter Control Panel (FCP) (circa 1988) panel (below the influent line in Plant 200) to be left in place or removed as part of this contract?

A. The equipment in this panel shall be decommissioned as part of this project. The panel shall be disconnected and removed. Signals for Plant 100 shall be addressed as they are found. Coordinate with owner for any equipment they would like to keep for spare parts.

Q19. Is the existing plant 200 control panel (ScadaPack) to be demolished? Demolition requirements for the conduits?

A. Plant 200 existing control panel (ScadaPack) shall be demolished after all control points are transferred to the new control system – this is to be coordinated with the owner, engineer, and mechanical. Existing conduits shall be disconnected and removed to wall penetrations, where they shall be capped and abandoned in place.

Q20. Who is to design the panel layout and terminal block layouts? Has anyone confirmed that all the IO capacity in 2 racks will fit within this cabinet?

A. Final panel and terminal blocks layouts will be the responsibility of the panel shop. Final cabinet size is to be determined by the panel shop to accommodate all equipment identified.

Q21. Can we wire FIT200 to the remote panel as it’s located in the same room and closer than going back to the main PLC panel?

A. FIT200 signals shall go to Remote IO panel. FIT100 signals shall go to main PLC panel.

Q22. What size/type of fusing is required for the PLC power distribution? A. Final fusing type and size shall be recommended by the panel shop during

shop drawing submission and confirmed/corrected by the engineer.

Q23. Where is the power circuit sourced for the new sludge meter? A. New sludge meter shall use the existing circuit.

Q24. Is the new instrumentation to be mounted on plywood or galvanized hardware?

A. Provide and install new 19mm pressure treated plywood, primed and painted to match existing. Size shall accommodate all instrumentation for the designated area.

Q25. Is cable tray required throughout the installation for the TECK90 and armoured

instrumentation cable? Are there any routes and sizes to be followed? A. From Remote IO panel to north end of filter structure, and around north end

to south end of west side, provide minimum 305mm wide tray to accommodate all instrumentation and control cables. At each filter provide minimum 150mm wide tray mounted vertically to accommodate all valve controls and instrumentation. Provide cantilever supports from the filter structure to support tray where possible, and structure supported trapeze where necessary. Tray shall be class C1, 150mm deep aluminium, ladder type, approved equal to B-Line tray systems. Other cable routing shall utilize existing cable supports where possible.

Q26. M02 shows filters as F-201 thru 204, whereas P01 shows filters as F-210 thru 240. Which is correct?

A. F-210 thru 240 is correct.

Q27. Drawing P03 shows AIT-210 thru 240 on both sides of the filter bed, is this correct? A. AIT-210 thru 240 is on the effluent (west) side of the filters. AIT-201 (a single

unit) is on the east side, this is a common unit to all filters.

Q28. P02 shows only one fluoride pump, but the scope indicates 2, which is correct? A. The fluoride system requires a duty dosing pump with an installed back up

pump, for a total of two. Dosing panel piping to be similar to that shown for polymer. The scale system is also to be replaced. Acceptable manufacturers for weighing systems include: Force flow DRUMM-SCALE with tuf-coat, model 27-DR3KDS, with dual channel SOLO G2 digital display, 4-20 mA output to PLC.

Q29. What is the volume of the backwash supply tank to be re-lined? A. The approximate dimensions of the tank, based on record drawings are 1.4 m

deep, 4.2 m wide, and 15.2 m long for a total volume of 89.4 m3. Contractor is to verify dimensions in the field following award.

Q30. What Epoxy product is to be used to re-line the backwash supply tank?

A. Please refer to specifications section 09971, appended to this addendum.

Q31. Clarification regarding existing alum storage tank in plant 100. A. Upon completion and commissioning of the new tank and alum feed system

supplying plant 100, the existing wood tank will be decommissioned and removed from plant 100, and disposed of in a location acceptable to the Owner and Engineer.

Q32. Clarification regarding controls on the raw water supply to Plant 100.

A. The raw water feed line in the plant 100 area is to include metering and modulating control valve to control process feed rate in the same fashion as plant 200.

Q33. Clarification regarding plant 200 piping.

A. Portions of the plant piping remain unpainted from previous installations. Complete painting and colour coding of new and existing plant piping in accordance with the schedule listed in Section 15010-2.1.

Q34. Clarification regarding chemical feed power supply.

A. Chemical feed panels will include 120 VAC GFC outlets for the chem feed pumps. Contractor is to supply power to the outlets. Contractor will provide pump control using the 4-20 mA feature on the pumps directly from the PLC

Q35. Clarification regarding plant 100 Alum storage tank.

A. 15203-2.1.6: The tank is to include a 600 mm diameter manway in addition to the connections listed in the specifications.

Q36. Re: 15203-2.2, polymer feed system. A. The dry polymer to water ratio is 1kg:1000L. Mixer should be selected to

provide adequate torque and mixing intensity. Existing transfer pump between batch tank and dosing tank will be salvaged and used in the new system. Coordinate and install piping and power supply for transfer pump.
