MARCH EVENTSAdult and Teen FeltingMarch 1 from 2-4 PMJoin us for a class on needle felting. We’ll be creating a magnetized mini-landscape of a moon with a silhouette of your choosing. This class is offered free of charge and is open to people of all levels of experience. Supplies will be provided.

Adult and Teen WatercolorMarch 15 from 2-4 PMDevelop your watercolor skills with this Watercolor Class for adults and teens. This time, we’ll be using watercolor paints and pencils to paint snowmen and try new techniques. This class is offered free of charge and is appropriate for all experience levels.

Leatherbacks Book ClubMarch 7 from 6:30-8 PMJoin the library’s Leatherbacks Book Club for a discussion of “The Clockmaker’s Daughter” by Kate Morton. This novel tells the story of Birchwood Manor, a Tudor-era haunted home that is the setting of a love affair and murder that cast shadows across generations, from the 1860’s to the present day.

APRIL EVENTSThe Magic of Dr. SeussApril 4 at 10:30 AMDive into the wacky and wonderful world of Dr. Seuss with this performance of magic, story-telling and silly comedy featuring the characters found in some Dr. Seuss’ most famous works. Perfect for families with toddlers, preschoolers and pre-kindergartners, this show is offered free of charge, thanks to funding from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. This event is offered in connection with 1,000 Books before Kindergarten.

Leatherbacks Book ClubApril 4 from 6:30-8 PMThis month, the Leatherback’s Book Club will discuss “Growing an Inch” by Stanley Gordon West. This book is set in 1949 in St. Paul and paints a picture of the optimism following WWII. It tells the story of a boy who made a solemn vow and grew into a man by keeping it. All are welcome to join the discussion.

LEGO Building BlocksLast Thursday and Friday of the MonthUse LEGO blocks to build fantastic buildings, vehicles and anything else you can imagine.

MONTHLY EVENTS FOR CHILDRENStorytime Second Friday at 10:30 AMStories, crafts and activities for preschoolers and their caregivers are available at the library.

Bingo for Kids Second Thursday at 6 PM Join us after school for a game of Bingo! This event offers kids a great way to make friends and develop pre-reading skills, plus prizes will be available.

Coloring & Crafts for Families Fourth Tuesday from 6-7:30 PM Families are invited to join us for an evening of coloring, painting, drawing and crafting. Supplies will be provided and all are welcome.

Adult and Teen WatercolorMay 17 from 2-4 PMPaint with watercolors and watercolor pencils. Try out new techniques. Today we will be painting backgrounds and inking foreground plants to make unique book marks.

Adult and Teen FeltingApril 5 from 2-4 PMJoin us for a class on needle felting. This month, we’ll learn how to create a needle felted bunny. This class is offered free of charge and is open to people of all levels of experience. Supplies will be provided.

The book tells the story of a once-accomplished concert pianist who now has become increasingly paralyzed due to ALS. When he is no longer able to live on his own, a woman becomes his reluctant caretaker.
