Recipe: Cat in the Hat Cookies

Ingredients

Oreo Cookies

Strawberries

Bananas

Steps

1. Separate your Oreo cookies. Save the cookie

half that has the cream filling attached. You

can save the other half for another recipe or

eat it!

2. Slice your strawberries so that they are round

(cut side to side instead of top to bottom)

3. Slice your banana so you have round slices

(cut side to side instead of top to bottom)

4. Stack your strawberries and bananas on top

of the Oreo cookie, cream side up, alternating

between the two fruits ending with a

strawberry on top.

Craft: The Lorax Hat

Materials

Print out (next page)

Markers

Scissors

Tape or stapler

Steps

1. Colour the hat outline on the next page

2. Cut out all pieces

3. Attached strips to the main piece (one with the

Lorax’s face)

4. Determine how big you need it to fit your head and

attached strips together to form a crown/hat

Sensory Play: Bartholomew and the Oobleck

Materials

Corn starch

Water

Food colouring (optional)

Steps

1. Add 8-10 drops of food colouring

into 1 cup of water and mix. If

you are not using food colouring,

measure 1 cup of water.

2. Pour one cup of corn starch to a

mixing bowl

3. Add water to bowl and mix with

a spoon. It will be hard but keep

mixing. If it seems a little dry,

add a little more water.

4. Time to play!

Fitness Blitz- Balloon Tennis

Objective: To get up and get active while having fun!

Equipment:

A racquet- fly swatter, broken down cereal box, ping

pong paddle, magazine

Balloons

A net- a sheet, a piece of string, a line drawn in

chalk, painters tape

Set Up:

Create a play area and set up your net

Instructions:

1. Player one serves the balloon over the net.

2. Play continues until the balloon hits the floor. Point is given to the player who did

not let the balloon hit the floor.

3. Game ends when one player gets 10 points.

Materials

2 paper plates

Scissors

Red and blue paint (can use markers instead)

Paint brush- can use loofah, dish cleaning brush,

leaves or any other house hold item

Tape

Googly eyes or black marker

Optional- craft stick to make it a puppet

Steps

1. Cover work area with old newspaper to protect

table surface

2. Paint or colour each paper plate and allow to dry

3. Cut out a triangle shape for a mouth (see

picture).

4. Use the triangle cut out for the tail. Attach with

glue or tape.

5. Glue on googly eye or draw an eye on with a marker

6. Optional- attach craft stick to the back of each fish if making it into a puppet

Recipe: Green Eggs

Serves 1

Ingredients

2 eggs

Cooking spray

2 Tbsp shredded cheese

Salt

Pepper

Green food colouring (optional)

Optional add ins- green peppers,

spinach, jalapenos, broccoli or

vegetables of other colours

Steps

1. Spray the inside of the mug with cooking spray

2. Crack open 2 eggs into the mug. Beat eggs with a fork.

3. Add cheese, salt, pepper and any optional ingredients. Stir with a fork.

4. Place mug in microwave and cook for 90 seconds (time may vary depending on

your microwave).

5. Let sit for 30 seconds, remove from microwave and enjoy.
